About the role

The Network Engineering Professional plays a pivotal role in the support and management of fixed connectivity and voice platforms across our core international estate. This includes Global Fabric, Global Voice, MPLS, Internet, transmission and voice networks that serve our BT International customers around the world. The role will require you to be part of an 24 x 7 operations teams to support and manager our core platforms, ensuring we are putting our BTI international customers at the front of everything we do.

What you will be doing (Role Accountabilities)

  • Be a crucial part of operating and maintaining BT International’s platform.
  • Support BT International's newest Global Fabric platform product.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults, using NMS, Command line investigation, event logs, dashboards, and runbooks.
  • Support our service facing units and customers and as required participate in real time triage with customers or stakeholders
  • Handle technically complex service-related issues received through ticketing tools, emails and occasionally calls.

  • Own customer incidents end-to-end using ITSM tools, ensuring accurate updates and SLA adherence.
  • Be responsible for cooperating with internal and external stakeholders and making sure you leave a lasting good impression.
  • Have the opportunity to learn from senior colleagues from wide array of areas.

What you’ll need to succeed (Skills & Experience)

  • Strong Operational leadership and decision-making in high-pressure environments
  • Strong understanding of global platforms (Optical, IP, Voice) and their operational management
  • Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders and customers
  • Ability to prioritise and manage competing operational demands
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical capability
  • Demonstratable experience in an IP and or Optical transport network management background OR experience and understanding in protocols such as SIP, SDP, RTP and SBC technology.
  • Ribbon/Audiocodes or Perimeta experience - Desirable
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative approach across global teams and suppliers
  • Strong customer focus and service ownership
