About the role

This role leads large-scale Finance and Digital transformation change autonomously, shaping not only what changes, but how people behave and work as a result. You will operate as a senior change authority across complex programmes, combining delivery leadership with cultural transformation.

You will design, lead and land behavioural, operational and cultural change at scale, influencing senior leaders, embedding data-led adoption, and ensuring change delivers measurable business outcomes. This is a highly visible role, trusted to operate independently, challenge constructively, and set the standard for change excellence.

Finance transformation succeeds only when people adopt new ways of working. This role ensures that strategic, digital and AI-led change translates into sustained behavioural and cultural shifts across BT.


You will:
• Enable adoption of complex Finance and Digital change across thousands of colleagues
• Embed new behaviours, mindsets and ways of working—not just new systems
• Act as a senior advisor to leaders, shaping decisions that have long-term organisational impact
• Set the cultural conditions for agile, customer-centric and data-driven Finance operations

This role can be based in London, Bristol or Birmingham and our hybrid working model means you are expected to be in the office 3 days per week. This role closes for applications on 03/08/26.

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a small but friendly team. The team drives change management across finance and corporate units digital initiatives, with a focus on emerging areas such as AI adoption and digital transformation. They serve as early adopters and drivers of organizational change initiatives, embedding change expertise within finance programs and enabling broader digital workplace and security functions.

The role involves working on large-scale programs with significant organizational impact, providing meaningful and varied work across different technologies and business areas.

Change & Transformation Leadership
• Lead end-to-end change strategies for high-profile Finance and Digital transformation programmes, operating autonomously with minimal oversight
• Own the change approach across programmes, ensuring alignment to business strategy, cultural outcomes and transformation goals
• Provide confident senior challenge and assurance to programme and executive leaders

Cultural & Behavioural Change
• Design and embed behavioural change strategies that drive sustainable adoption, accountability and new ways of working
• Shape cultural outcomes aligned to agility, customer focus, data-led decision making and continuous improvement
• Influence leadership behaviours to reinforce and role-model change

Data-Led Adoption & Value Realisation
• Define, track and act on clear adoption, readiness and behavioural KPIs
• Use insight and data to diagnose adoption risks, target interventions and demonstrate business value
• Ensure change activity delivers measurable outcomes, not just activity

Agile & AI-Enabled Change
• Lead change within agile delivery models and tribe structures, ensuring change keeps pace with delivery
• Act as a subject-matter expert in AI-enabled change, including generative AI adoption in Finance
• Integrate learning, communications, engagement and leadership actions into a single coherent change plan

Stakeholder Influence & Consulting
• Build trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders (Director / MD level), acting as a strategic advisor
• Influence across complex stakeholder landscapes including vendors, partners, onshore/offshore teams and executive sponsors
• Facilitate executive and senior leadership workshops with clear outcomes and decisions

Portfolio Oversight & Risk Management
• Identify and manage cross-programme risks, dependencies and change saturation across the Finance transformation portfolio
• Intervene early where adoption, leadership alignment or cultural readiness is at risk
• Coach and develop other change professionals through thought leadership and role modelling

Managing a global team
• Connecting colleagues across geography’s to drive successful change outcomes for the business
• Facilitating workshops both in person and virtually

Essential Skills / Experience

Change & Transformation Expertise
• Deep expertise in agile, human-centred and enterprise change management
• Proven ability to design and lead change in complex, large-scale Finance or Digital transformations
• Confident operating independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

Leadership & Influence
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels
• Ability to challenge constructively, navigate conflict and build alignment
• Strong facilitation, storytelling and executive communication skills

Data, Insight & Communication
• Strong analytical capability, using data to shape decisions and narratives
• Ability to translate complex insight into compelling, clear messages for diverse audiences

Strong project management skills
• Ability to create implement and drive change management plans from initiation through to completion

Desirable Skills / Experience

Strategic & Commercial Acumen
• Strong understanding of business strategy, financial drivers, KPIs and value realisation

Design & Culture Change
• Experience shaping operating models, ways of working, behaviours and culture

Learning & Capability Building
• Ability to identify capability gaps and partner with L&D to build targeted learning and enablement

Change Management certified
e.g., Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), Change Management Specialist (CMS), Certified Problem and Change Manager (CPCM), Prosci Change Management, BQF certified

• Change delivery experience within Financial Services. Knowledge of SAP preferred. Knowledge of financial global processes and financial stakeholder structure impacted by technical and process change.
• Change & Communication SME, being able to demonstrate leading change in complex corporate programmes for Digital transformation. Includes stakeholder engagement across multiple functions/organisations, with executive/director level engagement.
• Agile programme or project management experience, including planning, adapting plans, managing risks and issues as well as stakeholder management
