Job Description

Job Title: Sub-Contract Programme Manager

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on skills and experience

Location: Scotstoun

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving successful delivery of strategically important on-site subcontracts with a combined contract profile > £50m, meeting time, cost and quality requirements within contract boundaries, ensuring the realisation of identified opportunities and mitigating contract and programme risk
  • Sourcing of assigned delivery packages in line with the onsite services procurement strategies and plans and accountable for tendering activities in accordance with full end to end sourcing process and appropriate legislation
  • Performance management of subcontractors through regular dialogue and contract reviews (through management of key performance indicators)
  • Issue resolution for assigned subcontracts, including route cause analysis and delivery of return to green action plans, escalating as to the Major Subcontract Programme Manager / Head of Supply Chain as required
  • Weekly/monthly progress reporting against contract and financial delivery, including to Programme Control Account Mangers and Programme Senior Leadership team
  • Dispute resolution activities as required. Working alongside key stakeholders, ensure the successful conclusion of commercial disputes, including closure of outgoing or incoming commercial claims
  • Ensuring high standards for safety, health and environment (SHE) in our organisation are maintained

Your skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Contract Management in a Supply Chain environment in defence or similar industry e.g. automotive, aerospace
  • Broad and deep professional knowledge/understanding of Procurement principles, techniques and practices
  • Understanding of Customer requirements
  • Understanding of legal environment related to purchasing contracts and framework agreements within the defence sector

This pivotal role commands the management of Major Onsite Subcontracted Services at the heart of the Type 26 Programme. You will ensure suppliers deliver to the highest standards, holding them to account through robust contractual governance. Where challenges arise, you will lead with precision to resolve disputes in Naval Ships’ favour, safeguarding the success of our world-class shipbuilding projects.
