Job Description

Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance engineer

Location: Glasgow, Govan (On Site)

Salary: Up to £48,000 (dependent on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Embed oneself into the manufacturing and fabrication facilities to provide Quality Assurance and support to key stakeholders
  • Carry out Surveillances, Audits, Process conformations and investigations as required
  • Support the update of policy documents/User guides/Mis by attending reviews or First Articles
  • Bring LFe from past experience and previous contracts to mitigate against quality escapes
  • Document trends in Pareto Graphs to Identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Attend/lead on Manufacturing project reviews and improvement forums
  • Create and deliver PowerPoint slides, construct Toolbox talks and quality alerts
  • Support Area/Ships leads by attending local stand up meetings and feedback to Quality Leads

Your skills and experiences:

  • Background and solid foundation of manufacturing and fabrication processes ideally from a ship building environment
  • Capable of writing technical documents such as Quality Procedures, Quality Management Plans and Inspection & Test Plans
  • Auditor trained and conversant with ISO 9001
  • Knowledge of quality techniques such as RCA, CAPA, FMEA or Lean Manufacturing
  • Strong networking ability to Influence and communicate the importance of Quality Assurance

Type T26 Platform QA Team

Type T26 Platform QA are a multidisciplined team of 8 that include both time served trades people and quality professionals. They are made up from Ship build, mechanical, electrical and manufacturing backgrounds with a varied knowledge of the product. Working with all functions and stake holders associated in the construction and commissioning of a naval ship to identify potential quality escapes before they happen and facilitate improvements by carrying out audits as well as reviewing data from various sources such as QC RFT, Non-Conformance information & Program look a heads.

Due to the varied nature of the work, you will be expected to support all disciplines to gain knowledge and a broad understanding of end-to-end ship building which will provide the opportunities to advance as a quality professional and gain qualifications as a Lead Auditor that will support your development and the potential move into a lead quality role
