Job Description:
Working as part of the UK and International division within the Digital, Data and Infrastructure Delivery Unit, you’ll take ownership of programme management and overall service support for some of our high-profile contracts.
This is a varied role with a high degree of autonomy, which requires sound judgement, and a structured approach to decision-making. You’ll draw on a broad range of programme and general management skills, from planning and securing resources to supporting our internal function and responding effectively to emerging needs of the business.
Core duties:
- Responsible to the Head of Portfolio for managing the digital roadmaps, ensuring alignment with programme and campaign requirements
- Lead and shape Programme Management, Service, and IT technical resource demand to support our critical contracts and future bids
- Manage budget expenditure, ensuring financial targets are met and escalating where spend exceeds agreed tolerances
- Maintain a broad awareness of emerging technologies, holding both internal and external delivery teams to account for meeting time, cost and quality requirements
- Ensure effective IT and Programme Management assurance activities are in place, including Quality, Risk and Financial Management. Moreover, working closely with crucial functions such as Cyber, Commercial, Legal and more, in order to deliver the required business outcomes
Essential Skills:
- You’ll bring a considerable IT background, including hands-on service-level knowledge and experience
- You’ll have extensive stakeholder engagement skills, confidently engaging up to VP and Director level
- You’ll have experience overseeing budgets and keeping financial targets on track
- You’ll deliver complex programmes of work, ensuring delivery against time, cost and quality requirements, while successfully managing complex stakeholder relationships
The Programme Management Team
This team provides critical support across IT and business functions to deliver specific organisational objectives while upholding high professional standards, accountability, openness, equality, diversity, and clarity of purpose. It is responsible for reviewing and ensuring that service management processes align with corporate IT governance strategy, with an understanding of the principles outlined in ISO/IEC 38500:2008.
