You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow, shaping a safer future, for all of us.

From the depths of the ocean, to the far reaches of space, there’s no limit to where a career at BAE Systems could take you.

Job Description:

This role is pivotal to delivering the BAE Systems bid in supporting the UK F‑35 aircraft fleet. You will help shape a complex, multi‑partner solution across BAE Systems, and wider industry stakeholders, working closely with industry and government. The next‑generation Lightning Air system National Capability Enterprise (LANCE) bid seeks to embed transformation principles to evolve a proven support model, ensuring UK‑unique capability, readiness, and resilience.

Core duties:

  • Support development of the Bid/Campaign Plan
  • Lead aspects of bid management, including Lifecycles Management (LCM) reviews
  • Development of proposal submission, including liaising with technical teams in development of SoW, Bases of Estimate and other material

  • Deploy business winning policies and process, including Operational Framework, LCM and capture plans, to ensure LANCE bid activities are consistent and compliant with business requirements

Essential Skills:

  • You will hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAEW or equivalent)
  • You will have considerable knowledge of financial systems (e.g., SAP, Infor LN, Sage) and be comfortable using Microsoft tools, including Excel
  • You will bring experience supporting, guiding, and developing people
  • You will be able to interpret multi-faceted financial data and communicate insights clearly to colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
  • You will be able to identify control weaknesses and help deliver effective, sustainable improvements

The LANCE 28-32 Bid Team:

In this role, you will represent BAE Systems across the early lifecycle of the LANCE bid, working closely with key stakeholders including the MOD, RAF/RN, DE&S, and Lockheed Martin, and playing a vital part in shaping future capability. Based in the Northwest with regular travel to RAF Marham, you’ll be positioned alongside the RAF’s most advanced aircraft, offering a rare opportunity to contribute to the future of F‑35. This role provides hands-on exposure to cutting-edge defence technology, along with the chance to engage directly with customers and end users, combining strategic influence with real-world, face-to-face interaction in a highly impactful environment.

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.

Closing Date: 10th July 2026

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
