Role Overview:

The Warehouse Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of goods. This role focuses on maintaining operational excellence, inventory accuracy, and timely order fulfillment while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end warehouse operations, including inbound receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and outbound dispatch.

  • Ensure accurate inventory management, stock reconciliation, and proper storage practices.

  • Coordinate the movement of goods within the warehouse to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency.

  • Oversee loading and unloading of transport vehicles, ensuring adherence to schedules and safety protocols.

  • Monitor operational KPIs (e.g., turnaround time, order accuracy, productivity) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.

People Leadership & Management:

  • Supervise and lead warehouse staff, including task allocation, shift planning, and performance monitoring.

  • Manage employee lifecycle activities such as hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluation, and development.

  • Foster a safe, disciplined, and high-performance work environment.

  • Support team capability building and succession planning.

Planning & Execution

  • Translate business and customer requirements into actionable warehouse plans.

  • Support short- to medium-term operational planning, including workforce and resource allocation.

  • Ensure smooth coordination with internal teams such as transportation, procurement, and customer service.

  • Proactively address operational challenges and escalate complex issues when required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes.

  • Experience in managing warehouse teams and driving operational performance.

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and standard operating procedures.

  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently.

  • Strong communication and coordination abilities.

Experience Level & Scope:

  • Requires relevant 5years+ experience in warehouse or supply chain operations with demonstrated leadership capability.

  • Works with moderate autonomy, handling tasks of varied scope and complexity.

  • Applies practical knowledge and experience to resolve routine and moderately complex operational issues.

  • Escalates non-routine challenges to senior management as needed.
