WE’RE LOOKING FOR A PRODUCTION SCHEDULER

POSITION LOCATION: FORT ERIE, ONTARIO

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and executing a Master Production schedule and generating the Production Schedule. In accordance with the manufacturing build plan that is driven by the S&OP level loaded against available capacity. The Production Scheduler will coordinate with Production Planners, Production Supervisors/Lead Hands, and Quality Inspectors to resolve and align on changes to the Production Schedule.

Working with leadership, the Production Scheduler will be responsible for optimizing and standardizing current configuration of SAP and adapting new functionality to support manufacturing. This individual will be tasked with providing support to Manufacturing, Procurement and Quality departments with visibility on material, capacity, time booking, work order tracking, costing, master data maintenance and KPI data extraction. The Production Scheduler will be required to lead production meetings on MPS (Master Production Schedule) and WPS (Work in progress schedule) with a multi-functional group.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Order Management

  • Develop Master Production Schedule with coordination from Production, Procurement and CSRs in-line with S&OP and business line forecast.
  • Generate Production Schedule for in-house manufacturing and Procurement Schedule for purchased items with input from each department. Monitor and modify the schedule based on changes in customer and internal demands to match ERP with actual activity.
  • Align labour and raw materials to meet deadlines without creating bottlenecks.
  • Monitor MRP data and make adjustments to planned and released order schedule based on exception messages.
  • KPI Tracking: Monitor KPI metrics: On-Time Delivery (OTD), Schedule Accuracy, Lead Times, etc.
  • Manage master data in SAP related to Work Centre, Labour and Machine Capacity, Lead times and hours of operation.
  • Manage Master Routings to ensure a developed manufacturing process reflects actual activity including capturing operation standard times.
  • Oversee production order release and ensure maintained dates on production orders at time of release.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure no "stock-outs" halt production.
  • Understand operation strategy and how to achieve directives from upper management.

SAP Process Improvement

  • Analyze current SAP configuration and functionality, identify and flow down standard Production Planning functionality to support repetitive manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate to align with Industry and group for Make-to-Stock processes ensuring agility and efficiency.
  • Using Continuous Improvement mindset, work with leadership to identify new technology and tools to enhance and strengthen the Production Control department.

Education

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years work experience in Production Control setting.
  • Must demonstrate expertise in ERP, preferably in SAP.
  • Ideally experienced in working in an AS9100 QMS environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (SAP, Google Workspace)
  • Solid working knowledge of MRP, Demand Management, and Forecasting.
  • Proficiency in Google workspace is an asset.
  • SAP experience in PP module with understanding of cause and effect on other SAP modules.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
