In order to support Airframe Engineering Airbus Operations GmbH is looking for an

Electrical Harness Pre-Definition Design Engineer (d/f/m)

As part of the team, you will be responsible for the configuration and pre-definition of the content and geometry of electrical wiring, including its routing and fastening within the Single Aisle Aircraft. This role involves designing electrical harnesses and equipment installations from architecture and detailed design phases through to manufacturing support and in-service activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your location

You will be working in the city of Hamburg with the largest production sites for civil aircraft. The office can be located either in the production site itself on the southern banks of the river Elbe (including the option to commute by ferry) or north of the Elbe River in City Nord close to the airport and the Stadtpark (city park).

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface between initial system definition and the commissioning of detailed installation and manufacturing drawings.
  • Conduct configuration and pre-definition of electrical wiring content and geometry, including routing and fastening.
  • Participate in the conceptual layout of electrical wiring and maintain definitions in dedicated databases.
  • Investigate product-specific change requests and analyze their impact on the aircraft configuration.
  • Evaluate and process large datasets effectively, utilizing basic programming or scripting to improve team efficiency.
  • Take ownership as the dedicated point of contact for specific work package aspects.
  • Ensure all design work complies with relevant installation processes, methods, tools, and regulations.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Technician’s certification, or technical vocational qualification with at least three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and specific routing requirements for aerospace harnesses.
  • Proficiency in data processing and experience in project management.
  • High proficiency in Google Workspace and cloud-based data processing tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international, changing environment with a high degree of personal responsibility.
  • Fluency in English at a professional level; German language skills are considered a plus.
