Role Purpose/Business Unit:
- To ensure Vodacom Foundation is governed effectively and fulfils its public benefit obligations.
- To monitor operations in Africa to ensure internal governance standards are upheld and risks managed effectively.
- To report on governance matters to Foundation Board of Trustees and Foundation Audit & Risk Committee.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Oversee Vodacom’s charitable activity to ensure compliance with the Group Charitable Donations Standard.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Influence effective governance across the network of Foundations, verify through assurance and report on progress to trustees (through the Audit & Risk Committee).
- Understand, monitor and manage risks to the Foundation and its charitable purpose.
- Manage arising incidents and crises.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements and internal governance standards.
- Provide regular reporting on advocacy, fundraising, and communication performance.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Relevant degree/diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years experience which includes experience in finance (budget management), project administration and planning environments.
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
- Experience of working in governance, risk or compliance, with experience of executing such programmes for a company or charity.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proven track record in working collaboratively across countries.
