About this Role

We are seeking an Office LAN Network Engineer to design and implement reliable, secure and scalable network capabilities across corporate LAN, VPN, management LAN, data centre and office IT environments.Based in India and reporting to the General Manager, Office LAN and Central IP Connectivity, you will create high-level and low-level network designs, deliver validated solutions, optimise network performance and support quality assurance across local and regional environments. You will collaborate with engineering, implementation, operations, cyber security, application, vendor and third-party teams while supporting network harmonisation and the transition towards software-defined architectures.

What you’ll do

  • Design and optimise network solutions: Produce high-level designs, low-level designs, standard templates and modular configuration items for secure, resilient and scalable office network services. Assess capacity, capability and utilisation requirements, including how applications and services operate across the network.I
  • mplement and validate network capabilities: Deploy fit-for-purpose LAN, VPN, management LAN and data centre connectivity solutions. Implement network virtualisation and segregation concepts, conduct proof-of-concept validation, and manage relevant test environments.
  • Manage delivery quality, change and cost: Plan network changes, support change management processes, optimise implementation costs and contribute to CAPEX forecasting, planning, allocation, approval and administration. Coordinate external support teams, third parties and technology vendors.
  • Test, document and transition solutions: Define test catalogues and test plans, perform testing and quality assurance, audit deployed solutions and maintain installation, system, design and test documentation. Ensure accurate asset and change management records before handing accepted solutions to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Promote standardisation and collaboration: Harmonise office LAN environments and network standards across local markets and European environments. Collaborate with network operations, data centre, cyber security, WAN, application and supplier teams, support software-defined networking innovation, and share technical knowledge across network teams.

Who you are

  • You hold an academic degree and have at least five years of experience within an IT organisation supporting large, heterogeneous infrastructure environments.
  • You have expert knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols, network structures, hardware, security, network management and network analysis, together with detailed knowledge of passive network infrastructure.
  • You have practical experience installing and configuring routers, switches, VPN gateways, firewalls, proxies and related network components.
  • Relevant technologies may include Cisco Nexus, IOS and Catalyst; Fortinet FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiProxy and FortiAuthenticator; F5 LTM and GTM/DNS; and Cisco ASA and Firepower.
  • You understand WLAN, VoIP, DHCP, DNS and Active Directory, and have experience delivering Office LAN, data centre or IT networking projects using service management and ITIL processes.
  • Project management experience is essential.
  • You hold a valid Cisco Certified Network Associate or Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching certification, communicate fluently in written and spoken English, and demonstrate sound judgement, accountability, initiative and effective cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Additional Cisco design or security architecture certification is beneficial.
