This role focuses on translating functional business requirements into robust technical designs, ensuring high-quality deployments across multiple environments, and supporting critical BI and data platforms. The role holder will play a key part in maintaining data integrity, system reliability, and continuous improvement across production and non-production landscapes.

What you will do

  • Support deployment teams to ensure accurate and stable production releases.
  • Design, build and maintain technical application interfaces, ensuring end-to-end functionality.
  • Gather, analyse and validate technical requirements derived from business and system specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements.
  • Provide second-level support within Business Intelligence environments.
  • Apply a strong understanding of normalised telecom data models to interpret specifications and requirements.
  • Create detailed Low-Level Designs aligned to agreed specifications.
  • Configure and implement solutions, leveraging multiple configuration options to meet complex requirements.
  • Perform unit testing on own developments and system testing on solutions developed by others.
  • Operate effectively within highly complex environments, maintaining awareness of end-to-end system impacts.
  • Manage defect resolution across System Test, Operational Acceptance Test and Production phases.
  • Support post-production analysis to identify data gaps, mismatches and quality issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to reduce recurrence of defects and improve future delivery.
  • Take accountability for code quality through reviews, checklists and testing validation.
  • Produce accurate effort estimations for development and testing activities.
  • Participate in functional discussions with business users, translating needs into feasible technical designs.

Who you are

  • A graduate or post-graduate in a technical discipline such as Engineering or Computer Science.
  • An experienced professional with relevant hands-on experience in data, application or platform engineering roles.
  • Strongly proficient in K2View architecture, including Smart Data Controller and web/database services.
  • Experienced with Fabric CQLSH, Fabric debugging, synchronisation modes, jobs, parsers and web services as sources.
  • Knowledgeable in environments, database types, interfaces, logical units, schemas, instance groups, tables, global parameters, functions and transactions.
  • Familiar with K2View integration with Kafka.
  • Highly experienced in Cassandra databases.
  • Competent in ETL concepts and practices, independent of specific tools.
  • Confident in Java, SQL and database technologies.
  • Comfortable working with normalised data models and complex data relationships.
  • Ideally familiar with Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) and Agile methodologies.
  • Self-organised, collaborative and comfortable working in fast-changing environments.
  • Telecom domain knowledge is highly desirable.
