At Pets at Home, we’re transforming how millions of pet owners connect with our products and services, and our mobile app is at the heart of that journey. We’re looking for a talented App Developer to help us design, build and enhance a high-quality, accessible and reliable mobile experience.

The role offers hybrid working from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.

Please note, we are unable to provide sponsorship for this role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing, testing and maintaining features within the Pets at Home mobile app using React Native
  • Delivering high-quality, scalable solutions aligned to engineering best practice
  • Collaborating closely with Product, Design, QA and Engineering teams in an agile environment
  • Owning performance and contributing to improving app speed, reliability and usability
  • Writing and maintaining unit and end-to-end tests to ensure robust, high-quality releases
  • Championing accessibility standards and inclusive design
  • Contributing to code reviews and continuous improvement of tools, processes and ways of working

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in mobile development
  • Strong skills in React Native, TypeScript, Redux, React Navigation and Firebase
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, React Testing Library, Maestro)
  • Solid understanding of mobile development principles (state management, APIs, performance)
  • A collaborative mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for clean code, quality and continuous learning in a fast-paced agile environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms
  • Exposure to native mobile technologies (iOS/Android)
