At Unmind, we're here to create better mental health.
We believe mental health should be a source of strength, not struggle – for people, teams, and entire organisations.
We combine science, technology, and human care to help companies like Uber, Disney, Major League Baseball, and the NHS improve mental health and drive performance.
Now we’re looking for more brilliant people to help us do it.

🎯 The Role — Senior Engineering Manager
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to work with two of our product teams, which span both our activation and AI-powered experiences. Reporting into the Head of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for the growth, performance, and delivery of 8-10 Engineers working on high-impact, fast-moving products.
You’ll play a key role in enabling teams to deliver effectively and sustainably - helping navigate challenges, balance product and technical priorities, and support decision-making. As a member of our Tech Leadership group, you’ll also influence how we work across Unmind and play a key role in amplifying Engineering’s impact across the business.
In this role, you’ll get to:
Manage and develop Engineers across two product teams, fostering high performance, engagement, and sustainable delivery
Elevate Engineer’s performance and unlock their potential by creating the conditions, support and accountability for engineers to develop, and being willing to make tough calls where progress isn't happening
Support delivery momentum by helping teams identify lean approaches, spot risks early, stay focused on outcomes, and work through ambiguity
Collaborate with Staff Engineers to influence technical direction, improve decision-making, and support scalable systems
Play an active role in the Tech Leadership group, strengthening our Engineering culture, improving how Engineering operates and how we show up as leaders
Shape engineering practices by improving team collaboration, delivery, and engineering productivity across Product Development, including how we leverage AI tools and automation to work more effectively
Gain exposure to AI-powered products, working with teams building innovative user-facing solutions in a fast-evolving space
🌟 About You
In the spirit of equity and continuous growth, we invite you to remove education from your CV. Qualifications are not a factor in our decision-making. However, some experience in the following is important for this position:
Proven experience managing Engineers in product-focused teams, across more than one team or domain.
Proven record of driving a high-performance culture, setting clear expectations, holding people accountable, and making difficult decisions consciously, but swiftly. You default to kindness and clarity, not avoidance.
Strong track record of partnering with Product Managers, including the ability to challenge decisions and shape delivery approaches, balancing tech and product priorities.
Technically credible - able to support Engineers across all levels, contribute to architectural thinking, and ask the right questions to ensure sound decisions. (Our stack includes React, TypeScript, NodeJS and GraphQL - while direct experience isn’t required as this is a hands-off role, familiarity is a plus).
Able to operate with sound judgement and independence - ruthlessly prioritising your workload, making good calls with imperfect information, keeping teams steady through shifting priorities, and knowing when to involve others
Comfortable in fast-changing environments, with the ability to balance competing priorities and provide clarity amid ambiguity
Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and contributing to shared ownership of outcomes
Tip for candidates: If you’re unsure whether to apply – do. We know great people don't always tick every box.
