With the creation of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Federal Australian Agencies we’re building a high-performance team to guide major agencies through the how of ERP migration — with proven strategy, expert delivery, and scalable, lasting impact.

Initially, an 18-month transformation program, this high-profile, strategic initiative will be the successful candidate’s initial assignment, before transitioning into the broader Customer Success and Delivery area to extend the best practices and knowledge gained there.

About the Role:

This is a critical consulting role focused on establishing the essential policy and accountability architecture necessary to convert strategic advisory into an auditable contractual reality, and champions defining and ownership of delivery outcomes of assigned projects or areas of responsibility. The Principal Executive’s expertise lies in policy and governance consulting, ensuring the framework for shared and individual responsibility is robust. This role works closely in hand with the Expert Cloud Engagement Executive on high-level policy negotiations, and with the Enterprise Cloud Engagement Architect on validating technical assurance against legal requirements, leading the certification of the Governed On-Ramp that clears the path for contract execution.

Job Responsibilities:

Excellent facilitation and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to effectively engage with executive stakeholders, partners, and SAP account teams. Other key competencies of this role include the ability to:

  • Provide expert policy and governance consulting to C-Suite leaders, actively negotiating and resolving ambiguities related to risk, procurement, and cloud service terms.
  • Work closely in hand with the Expert Cloud Engagement Executive on high-level governance and policy negotiations, ensuring the final policy frameworks support the executive-defined risk posture.
  • Develop the definitive Accountability Framework that confirms shared and individual responsibility across solutions, managements, cyber, security, and the operating model, ensuring all parties' obligations are explicit.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Cloud Engagement Architect to formalise the technical risk documentation into auditable policy statements suitable for legal review.
  • Lead the documentation required for the Governed On-Ramp processes, verifying that all policy impediments and contractual ambiguities are formally resolved at best or path to resolution clearly articulated prior to final commitment and the handover to the downstream SAP Account Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with internal SAP teams addressing national security risk mitigation, including GS2, to ensure policy frameworks meet stringent security protocols for handling sensitive Commonwealth information.
  • Work with Platform/ Basis teams to extract appropriate reports from Agency environments. Continuously improve knowledge gathering and articulation of advice from these reports working with appropriate lines of business.
  • Management of demonstration environments as well as back log of proof of concept and technical uplift backlog.

On a Continuous Basis:

  • Maintain awareness of the CS&D strategy in terms of transformation initiatives, methodology, tools, delivery strategy and promote the understanding and adoption within the Project or Program.
  • Lead by example, mentor and coach other team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of mandatory training.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of SAP solutions and of the CS&D business processes and functions.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • (Primary) Working appreciation for technical and policy requirements addressing cloud computing requirements of public sector customers.
  • Proven ability to work across internal SAP Lines of Business articulating customer Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) that reflect risk-mitigating sovereign policy and legal requirements of cloud.
  • Working knowledge of the PSPF, Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), and legislative requirements governing data and security in cloud arrangements.
  • Working comprehension and practical experience across SAP Enterprise Cloud solutions and technical trajectory.
  • Significant experience, ideally exceeding 4 years, in policy consulting, public sector procurement, contract negotiation, and ICT service delivery agreements with the Australian Commonwealth.
  • Deep appreciation for working with technical and policy requirements addressing sovereign cloud computing requirements of customers.
  • Proven ability to work across internal SAP Lines of Business articulating customer Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) that reflect risk-mitigating sovereign policy and legal requirements of cloud.
