We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

Lead the Future of ERP Migrations – Join Our Centre of Excellence

Are you passionate about the power of the cloud? Are you ready to help Australia's public sector unlock greater efficiency and productivity through smarter ERP migrations?

Join SAP and lead a bold new initiative that’s redefining how key government agencies move to the cloud.

With the creation of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Federal Australian Agencies we’re building a high-performance team to guide major agencies through the how of ERP migration — with proven strategy, expert delivery, and scalable, lasting impact.

Initially, an 18-month transformation program, this high-profile, strategic initiative will be the successful candidate’s initial assignment, before transitioning into the broader Customer Success and Delivery area to extend the best practices and knowledge gained there.

This is your chance to set new industry benchmarks and drive real transformation where it matters most.

About the Role:

This is the expert Business Development consulting executive role, tasked with defining and articulating the strategic imperative for cloud transformation within Australia's Federal Agencies, serving as the proving ground for a global PSCoE model. The incumbent's expertise lies in executive strategic advisory, acting as the visionary who shapes the customer's political and organisational trajectory toward the cloud. This requires operating at the Secretary/CIO level to secure executive consensus and define the accepted risk posture necessary for a funded, compliant ICT modernisation that aligns with SAP’s cloud strategy. The Executive must seamlessly coordinate the foundational assurance work undertaken by the Chief Architect and the Principal Executive to present a unified, auditable commitment to the C-Suite.

Job Responsibilities:

Excellent facilitation and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to effectively engage with executive stakeholders, partners, and SAP account teams. Other key competencies of this role include the ability to:

  • Lead high-level executive consulting engagement to articulate the necessary transformation trajectory and establish the strategic vision for cloud adoption across the customer's enterprise.
  • Directly coordinate the specialist advisory work of the Chief Enterprise Cloud Engagement Architect and the Principal Cloud Engagement Executive to ensure all technical and policy outputs align to the singular executive-defined risk posture.
  • Champion the strategic mission of the Public Sector Centre of Excellence, providing public-facing advocacy and thought leadership that addresses the unique requirements of the Australian Commonwealth.
  • Oversee the seamless handover of the strategic customer alignment and executive vision to the downstream SAP Account Manager and Delivery Executive, ensuring clear progression into the CVJ execution phase.
  • Work collaboratively with internal SAP teams addressing national security risk mitigation, including GS2, to ensure the Executive's strategy is compliant with internal security policy and supported by the appropriate security apparatus.
  • Collaborate with various SAP lines of business, including Sovereign Cloud, SAP S/4HANA, Success Factors and other cloud LoB’s, to ensure Centre of Excellence is aligned with changes in strategy and strategic initiatives. Provide direction and drive alignment to ensure PS CoE remains aligned strategically and operationally with SAP LoB’s.
  • Initial opportunity analysis working with Federal agency decision makers and the Industry Account Executive.

On a Continuous Basis:

  • Maintain awareness of the CS&D strategy in terms of transformation initiatives, methodology, tools, delivery strategy and promote the understanding and adoption within the Project or Program.
  • Lead by example, mentor and coach other team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of mandatory training.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of SAP solutions and of the CS&D business processes and functions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive experience, ideally exceeding 10 years, in strategic consulting or advisory roles directly engaging the Public Sector Secretary/Deputy Secretary, CIO, and Executive Steering Committee level.
  • A proven track record in shaping the executive mandate and securing high-value, large-scale government ICT transformation programmes.
  • Deep comprehension of public sector legislative drivers, accountability frameworks, and the political necessity of defining and mitigating sovereign risk in modern technology deployments.
  • Experience with SAP and SAP Cloud products and understanding of SAP RISE Methodology and tool chains
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience mentoring, and coaching people on SAP Cloud products and understanding of SAP RISE Methodology and tool chains
  • Cultural awareness and experience working across different cultures and nationalities
  • Deep appreciation for working with technical and policy requirements addressing sovereign cloud computing requirements of customers.
  • Proven ability to work across internal SAP Lines of Business articulating customer Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) that reflect risk-mitigating sovereign policy and legal requirements of cloud.
