Where you’ll work:
Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.
You’ll be assigned to the closest one of our three hub offices, Bristol, Glasgow, or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

The Design team is the DNA that exists to connect our customers, business and brand. We play a pivotal role in helping and supporting our customers on our Zero Carbon journey by crafting experiences for our customers that power the movement today and lead the path to the future.
This role in a nutshell:
We’re looking for a Content Producer to help make sure we publish clear, accurate content in the right place at the right time. As a Content Producer, you’ll drive the efficiency and consistency of our content delivery system. Working with high autonomy, you will lead production projects that prioritize technical integrity and scalability. Your expertise ensures every deployment is error-free, balancing business objectives with a commitment to providing seamless, high-quality experiences for our users.
Key responsibilities:
Content Production & Systems Management
- CMS Orchestration: Manage and format complex content components within the CMS, strictly adhering to governance workflows and permission structures.
- Multi-Channel Delivery: Develop and deploy high-quality content across web, app, and communication channels, ensuring platform integrity and technical scalability.
- Design System Evolution: Contribute to the growth of internal style guides and design systems, building consistent layouts that align with brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Asset Optimisation: Manage content performance by optimising media (images, video) for fast loading speeds and technical efficiency.
User Experience & Information Architecture
- UX Writing & IA: Craft task-oriented copy based on brand voice guidelines and design intuitive navigation structures using established Information Architecture (IA) principles.
- SEO Excellence: Execute on-page SEO best practices during the publishing process to maximize content findability and organic ranking.
- Inclusive Design: Ensure all content meets global accessibility standards (WCAG), optimising for screen readers, voice input, and responsive performance across all devices.
- Content Auditing: Conduct foundational audits to identify content gaps and flag assets requiring localisation or regional refinement.
Collaboration & Growth
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Marketing, Design, Copywriting, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate vision into functional digital experiences.
- Community of Practice: Actively participate in the professional Community of Practice (CoP), contributing to shared goals and staying aligned with industry-standard production methodologies.
Your key outcomes will be:
- Successfully deliver scalable, error-free content deployments by adhering to Content Governance.
- Format, configure, and publish content and assets for complex user journeys in the Enterprise CMS platforms.
- Improve content accessibility and adherence to enterprise accessibility standards across various channels.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and efficiency in content delivery.
- Contribute to key content production decisions, making significant impacts on production efficiency and content integrity.
- Plan and conduct content audits under guidance to identify content gaps and opportunities.
Systems: Contentful, Jira, Figma, Miro, G-Suite.
You’ll be a successful Content Producer at OVO if…
- Have deep understanding of content lifecycles, structured workflows, and high-standard digital copywriting.
- Have expert-level proficiency in headless CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful) and modern publishing environments.
- Are able to independently design and maintain content models, creating reusable, structured content types for complex feature areas.
- Have a strong command of Content QA and governance best practices to ensure consistency across large-scale deployments.
- Working knowledge of accessible site builds, including the ability to architect templates for key user journeys and screen layouts.
- Have clear, persuasive communication skills with the ability to articulate the technical and strategic rationale behind production decisions.
- Are a proactive problem-solver with an "efficiency-first" mindset aimed at streamlining publishing bottlenecks.
- Have the proven ability to influence content quality within multidisciplinary teams (Design, Engineering, Marketing).
- Have a growth Mindset: You’re skilled in giving and receiving constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Are detail orientated: You’ve got a meticulous eye for formatting, syntax, and overall content integrity.
- Are user-centric: A steadfast commitment to the end-user experience in every production decision.
- Balance user needs with technical feasibility and business objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Are highly organised and proactive, with the capacity to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.

We’ll pay you between £40,000 and £47,000, depending on your specific skills and experience.
We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission.
You’ll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
