About the Role

As Technical Principal, you will have responsibility for the technical delivery of water projects across KSA, so ensuring that the client’s projects are delivered to time, cost and quality and that Mott MacDonald is commercially successful.

You will support the Divisional General Manager and Unit Market Lead for growing and developing the water team in KSA, including identifying and bringing in the right people into the business to support the sector growth strategy, whilst working collaboratively with both the Unit and Global Water delivery centres. You will also be responsible for the training and development of your direct reports and the wider water team in KSA.

You will provide support to the Unit Market Lead in building and maintaining Mott MacDonald’s relationships with our water clients in KSA. You will be expected to support the winning of work, growing key client accounts, and ultimately lead the technical delivery of the projects.

You will play a lead role in gaining trust with our key clients and will have a wide network of stakeholders to manage including Client representatives, Market Leaders, Divisional General Managers, Resource Managers, Bid Principal/Manager, Project Manager, Practice Leaders, and other stakeholders with interest in the Client.

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Lead the technical delivery of water projects in KSA.

  • Mentor and develop team and staff members.

  • Bring in resources to deliver projects to client satisfaction and meet profit targets.

  • Take on Project Manager / Project Principal roles for water sector projects.

  • Support Project Managers with technical delivery, including design development and reviewing deliverables.

  • Attend client progress and technical meetings, resolving major technical issues.

  • Identify opportunities and turn them into prospects.

  • Support the bidding process, ensuring bids are technically and commercially sound and compliant.

  • Deliver commercially robust projects and quality outcomes for clients, on budget and schedule.

  • Support continuous improvement and digital ways of working, sharing knowledge and lessons learned.

  • Demonstrate safe, ethical and inclusive behaviours aligned to Mott MacDonald values.


Candidate specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar relevant engineering discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in the design of water and wastewater infrastructure.

  • Sound knowledge of professional and international technical standards.

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Evidence of working with Government and/or Giga City clients; experience in KSA preferred, but not essential.

Desirable

  • Chartered Status will be advantageous and preferred.

  • Experience in KSA water sector projects.

  • Leadership experience, including mentoring and developing others.

  • Experience supporting bids and proposals.
