Key Responsibilities:

You will support our clients in capturing, validating and curating cost data at various project stages, including two-stage award, and upon project completion. This will involve the reviewing of cost data provided by contractors as part of tender returns and final accounts against the clients Work Breakdown Structure, and validating that it has been correctly allocated, with appropriate tags (coverage rule criteria) and yardsticks (quantities and units of measurement) attributed.

You will manage the data base of costs to ensure it remains fit for purpose, including normalising for inflation, and changes to asset standard changes. Additionally, you will support our teams in undertaking analysis’ to understand and predict trends, monitor performance and recommend efficiency improvements and risk mitigations.

Analyse project data and technical drawings to extract relevant cost and carbon information.

Allocate costs and apply yardsticks to various assets within projects.

Develop and maintain databases for cost and carbon data capture.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.

Prepare detailed reports and presentations on cost and carbon.

Identify trends and insights to support decision-making and project planning.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to cost and carbon reporting.

Continuously improve data capture processes and methodologies.


Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering or other construction discipline.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, PowerBI, R).

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.

Ability to follow prescriptive processes.

Desirable:

Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to cost and carbon reporting.

Relevant experience in Water, Environment, or Transport sectors

Sound knowledge in Cost and Contracts for infrastructure projects and programmes.

Proven experience in data analysis, cost allocation, and carbon reporting.

Experience using estimating systems, such as CCS Candy, Benchmark Estimating System or other.
