Build on your experience while helping shape what comes next. At Mott MacDonald, you'll work alongside talented people on complex and rewarding projects that make a real difference. We value fresh perspectives, encourage collaboration, and provide opportunities to expand your skills, take on new challenges, and grow your career. Whether you're deepening your technical expertise, broadening your leadership experience, or exploring new opportunities across our business, you'll be supported by a team that is committed to helping you succeed.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Civil/Water to lead and deliver complex civil infrastructure projects with a strong emphasis on water, wastewater, environmental, and general civil engineering. This role is ideal for a seasoned civil engineer with progressive experience, who brings both technical depth and proven project leadership, particularly in municipal and infrastructure-focused environments.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects from planning and design through construction support, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders in the Greater New Orleans and Gulf Coast region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager for civil, water, wastewater, and environmental infrastructure projects of varying size and complexity
  • Lead project planning, scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
  • Oversee technical deliverables related to:
    • Environmental and general civil engineering projects
    • Water and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems
    • Drainage, stormwater, and flood resilience infrastructure
  • Manage and mentor project teams, including engineers, designers, and subconsultants
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to support permitting and compliance requirements
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards
  • Support proposal development, project pursuits, and business development efforts as needed
  • Apply regional knowledge of Louisiana and Gulf Coast infrastructure challenges, including resiliency, environmental constraints, and regulatory considerations

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Approximately 15 years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a strong focus on water, wastewater, environmental, and general civil projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Louisiana preferred or ability to obtain)
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure, public works, and environmental systems
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and make sound technical and project decisions
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

Bring your expertise, curiosity, and drive to make a difference. If you are ready to join a collaborative consultancy where your perspective is valued, your growth is supported, and you are empowered to lead with integrity, we would love to hear from you.
