Pricing Specialist-2
Job Description
The Pricing Specialist supports profitable growth by developing and maintaining competitive pricing solutions across Maersk’s Canadian inland and transportation logistics products. This role partners closely with Sales, Operations, and Product teams in Canada to deliver timely, accurate, and market‑aligned pricing for LTL, FTL, intermodal, and Canada–US cross‑border transportation, while ensuring adherence to commercial strategy, operational feasibility, and margin targets.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain competitive pricing for Canadian domestic transportation services, including LTL, FTL, and intermodal rail/truck solutions, across assigned customers, lanes, and regions
Support customer RFQs, tenders, and spot pricing requests for Canada‑only and Canada–US cross‑border movements, ensuring alignment with Maersk’s commercial and pricing strategy
Analyze Canadian transportation cost drivers, including linehaul, fuel surcharges, accessorial, drayage, rail costs, terminal charges, and cross‑border complexities
Monitor and respond to Canadian market conditions such as carrier capacity, rail service dynamics, regional lane imbalances, fuel volatility, and seasonal fluctuations
Collaborate with Canadian Sales, Operations, Finance, and Product teams to validate pricing feasibility, service coverage, and capacity availability
Track pricing performance and lane‑level margin trends across Canadian corridors; proactively identify risks tied to cost increases, regulatory changes, or service disruptions
Maintain pricing data, rate sheets, routing assumptions, and documentation within internal pricing and transportation management systems
Support continuous improvement of Canadian transportation pricing models, tools, and governance, including standardization of inland and intermodal pricing approaches
Ensure compliance with internal pricing policies, approval frameworks, and delegation of authority applicable to the Canadian business
Provide ad‑hoc pricing analysis, scenario modeling, and reporting to support commercial decision‑making within the Canadian transportation network
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or Finance, or equivalent experience
3–5 years of experience in transportation pricing or logistics within the Canadian market, with hands‑on exposure to LTL, FTL, and/or intermodal pricing
Solid understanding of Canadian domestic transportation networks, including regional lane structures, accessorials, and modal economics
Working knowledge of Canada–US cross‑border transportation pricing, including common cost components and operational considerations
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess lane economics, pricing competitiveness, and margin performance
Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with pricing tools, TMS, or analytical platforms
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Canadian commercial and operational teams
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced Canadian transportation environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within Canadian transportation providers, freight forwarders, 3PLs, or integrated logistics organizations
Demonstrated experience supporting large Canadian transportation RFQs and national tenders
Hands‑on exposure to intermodal rail pricing in Canada, including coordination with Class I rail partners
Familiarity with provincial/regional transportation dynamics, fuel surcharge mechanisms, and Canadian regulatory considerations
Prior exposure to Maersk or similar integrated logistics offerings, including Inland, Intermodal, and Ground Freight solutions in Canada
