Job Description
JOB TITLE: Senior Actuarial Analyst
Purpose of the Role:
At Brit, we help people and businesses face the future and thrive in an uncertain world. As a leading Lloyd’s insurer with a growing Bermuda entity, we bring together expertise, innovation and collaboration to deliver long-term value for our clients and partners.
We are looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Brit India Actuarial team, working closely with colleagues in London to support reserving, pricing and business planning activities across a range of non-life insurance lines.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality actuarial insight that supports underwriting and strategic decision-making, while also helping to develop junior colleagues and strengthen actuarial capability within the team.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll support the London Actuarial team with reserving activities, including the analysis of claims and premium data and the preparation of reserve estimates for regulatory reporting.
You’ll contribute to improving data quality, processes and controls across reserving and pricing workflows and support internal and external audit activity, including Lloyd’s reviews.
You’ll assist with pricing and business planning by supporting technical pricing, performance optimisation and segmentation analysis to identify areas of outperformance and underperformance.
You’ll also work closely with underwriters and stakeholders across the business, translating technical analysis into clear and actionable insight.
Alongside your technical responsibilities, you’ll support the Brit India Actuarial Team Leader by reviewing the work of junior analysts, providing constructive feedback, and helping to identify training and development needs.
You’ll contribute to maintaining a positive, open and collaborative team culture across Brit India and London.
What you’ll bring
You’ll have at least three years’ experience in a non-life actuarial role, ideally within the Lloyd’s or London Market. You’ll have experience reviewing or delegating actuarial work and you’ll have started the actuarial exams, with a commitment to completing the full qualification.
You’ll be analytically minded, comfortable challenging the status quo, and able to manage your time effectively in a deadline-driven environment. You’ll communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and bring a proactive, professional approach to your work.
You’ll bring strong technical capability, including advanced Excel skills and experience using VBA, SQL, Python or similar coding languages. You’ll have a strong interest in data visualisation and experience developing Power BI dashboards to support business insight
