22 – 26 June 2026 – Female Focussed

In support of International Women in Engineering Day, BAE Systems are pleased to offer a Virtual Work Experience programme.

BAE Systems will be providing budding female Engineers with the opportunity to take part in a week long Virtual Work Experience Programme, with aspirations to engage and inspire the next generation of BAE Systems employees. Participants will see a range of sectors and functions from across the business come together to offer insight and experience to young people aged 14 to 18 years old.It will be facilitated by BAE Systems, and delivered via our online learning platform.

During this 5 day programme, students will complete an engineering project, developing knowledge and skills to design a solution to a project brief. It is an interactive programme, with opportunities to collaborate with peers and learn from employees at BAE Systems.

On completion of the programme you will receive a Silver Industrial Cadet certificate, awarded by the Engineering Development Trust.

Applications to close approximately 8 weeks before the programme begins. However, they may close earlier if high volumes of applications are received – we recommend applying as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Qualification requirements

This programme is for those 14 – 18 and in years 10 – 13
