Job Description
Job Title: Transition Specialist (Edgewing)
Location: Reading area. The role could be contracted to any BAE Systems site (preferably Frimley) but on commencement will immediately be assigned to our Edgewing JV in the Reading area. A financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met. Due to the nature of this assignment, we envisage there will be a need for mostly on site working, however, flexible working arrangements may be possible – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.
Salary: £53,211+ Dependent of skills and experience
What you’ll be doing
- Support the Transition Lead in shaping and delivering Digital Information transition strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, clearly defined roles and responsibilities, and seamless contract mobilisation
- Lead the coordinated transition of people, processes, IT systems and contractual arrangements, safeguarding business continuity and ensuring full compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements
- Drive effective business change by delivering clear communication and engagement plans that support stakeholders through transition and embed sustainable ways of working
- Proactively identify, assess and mitigate transition risks, developing practical solutions to minimise disruption and protect operational performance
- Establish and track meaningful success metrics and KPIs to measure transition effectiveness, performance outcomes and long-term value realisation
Your skills and experiences
Essential:
- Proven experience in complex IT program delivery, transition management or major digital transformation activities
- Considerable understanding of program and project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid)
- Resource management, with focus on reorganisations, procurement and IT governance with an in-depth knowledge of various IT lifecycle and technologies
- Knowledge of risk management techniques and impact mitigation
Desirable:
- Contracts management understanding
- In-depth knowledge of the structure of Digital Information and associated frameworks such as SFIA.
- Certifications like PMP, PgMP, Prince2, or Agile SAFe.

The Edgewing team
You will be joining a highly motivated, experienced team within the BAE Systems Air sector, committed to the delivery and progression of a Future Combat Air System (FCAS) for the UK. You will play a central role in working across a diverse stakeholder group of functional and delivery teams including tri national industry and government colleagues from across our partner nations to support the delivery of the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).
