Role Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Senior Systems Analyst to join our Business Systems and Infrastructure team. The Business Systems and Infrastructure team provides support and management of the applications and infrastructure that are used to help the Defence Delivery Business to succeed. Reporting to the Business Systems & Infrastructure Manager, you will play a key role in providing technical expertise and customer focussed support for business applications, ensuring their availability, performance and usability.

Working in a collaborative team environment, you will contribute to customer-facing system upgrade activities, managing configuration, troubleshooting issues, working with the business and vendors to resolve incidents and deliver enhancements.

Core Duties:

  • Monitor application performance, availability, and reliability, performing routine maintenance and health checks.
  • Configure, maintain, and enhance business applications to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and technology partners to manage escalations, upgrades, patches, and issue resolution.
  • Support application testing, deployment, release management, and change activities to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, including knowledge base articles, user guides, and support procedures.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Ensure business systems remain secure, reliable, and operationally efficient.
  • Monitor and maintain application service levels, driving continuous improvement in system availability and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on application performance, incidents, risks, and enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and deliver application enhancements that support business objectives.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of application-related projects, including implementation, upgrades, and system integrations.
  • Partner with business users to understand operational needs and translate requirements into effective application solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by proactively identifying and implementing opportunities to optimise application services.

About YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Systems Analyst supporting and enhancing ERP, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), or other complex business-critical applications.
  • Proven ability to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements, translating them into effective system solutions and functional specifications.
  • Strong experience delivering business, system, and process analysis within complex enterprise environments and technology projects.
  • Sound understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), application support frameworks, and change management practices.
  • Experience managing system enhancements, integrations, upgrades, testing, and deployment activities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Strong documentation skills, including requirements gathering, business process mapping, functional specifications, user stories, and support documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology to drive operational efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working within the aviation, defence, aerospace, or asset-intensive industries, including exposure to aircraft maintenance systems, will be highly regarded.
  • NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory for this role.
