Role Description:

The Manager, Strategy & Architecture is responsible for leading the development and execution of Enterprise Services technology strategy, architecture, and innovation to support the organisation’s strategic objectives. The role provides leadership of the Architecture function within a federated architecture operating model, ensuring enterprise platforms, technology services, and investments are aligned to business priorities, enterprise standards, and long-term organisational outcomes.

As a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders, the role drives enterprise architectural direction, governance, and capability uplift across Enterprise Services, enabling secure, resilient, and future-ready technology services. The Manager, Strategy & Architecture fosters a high-performing and collaborative architecture community and balances business outcomes, technology risk, operational excellence, and innovation to deliver sustainable value across the enterprise.

Core Duties:

  • Shape and drive the Enterprise Services technology strategy and roadmap, aligning technology investments with business priorities and long-term organisational goals.
  • Lead the Enterprise Services architecture practice and provide strategic direction within a federated architecture environment.
  • Partner with senior business and technology leaders to define future capabilities and enable organisational outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on technology opportunities, investment priorities, emerging trends, and innovation.
  • Lead architecture across multiple domains to deliver integrated business and technology outcomes.
  • Drive major transformation initiatives through strategic planning, solution direction, and modernisation programs.
  • Champion simplification, modernisation, and the reduction of technical debt across the Enterprise Services portfolio.
  • Explore and leverage emerging technologies to improve business performance, operational efficiency, resilience, and customer outcomes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing architecture team while fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Build and strengthen architecture capability to support current and future organisational needs.

About You

You will bring:

  • Proven experience developing and delivering enterprise technology strategies, roadmaps, and architecture that enable business outcomes.
  • Extensive enterprise architecture expertise across business, information, application, technology, and security domains.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to align technology investments to value, growth, and organisational priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and build trusted relationships with senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Experience leading large-scale transformation, modernisation, and technology enablement initiatives.
  • A proven track record of identifying and leveraging emerging technologies and innovation to deliver tangible business benefits.
  • Strong people leadership capability, with experience building, coaching, and developing high-performing teams and communities of practice.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex technology concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of navigating complex enterprise challenges.
  • Relevant Information Technology qualification and/or architecture certification (preferred).
  • Eligibility to hold and maintain an NV1 Defence security clearance.
