Job Description:
As an Engineering Technician, you will provide support to the RECODE (Real Time Combat Systems Open Data Enablers) Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Team who are responsible for the provision of services to the Royal Navy’s In-Service Platforms. You will be responsible for the daily movement of hardware, both internally and externally, maintaining asset management records both of stores and in-service platforms. There will be exposure to working on-board ships to assist with platform installations, de-stores and to complete equipment audits.
Core duties:
- You will carry out daily collation and movement of hardware alongside supporting deliveries to the customer
- You will use the Asset Management System ensuring accurate records are kept
- You will generate paperwork and organising equipment deliveries to stores and platforms, including classified items
- You will support hardware disposals of excess and Beyond Economic Repair stock
- You will assist with stores organisation and conducting stock audits across sites, including validation of rigs
- You will support Build State Record verification audits on platforms, ensuring system definitions are complete
Essential Skills:
- You will have good IT skills – MS Office including Word, Excel
- You will have experience or knowledge in a Stores environment – shown by self-motivated and conscientious with an attention to detail with record keeping
- You will have customer facing experience – this will be demonstrated by your flexibility and ability to meet customer expectations, often at short notice
The RECODE ILS Team:
The RECODE (Real Time Combat Systems Open Data Enablers) team are responsible for maintaining high levels of combat system equipment availability across multiple deployed platform classes, including the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers and Type 45 Destroyers. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, critical in providing in-service support to operational platforms.
