Role Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Surveyor to join our Maritime Business based at Osborne SA, reporting to the Dimensional Control Manager.
Working across all aspects of the Hunter Class Frigate Program, you will assist the Dimensional Control Manager by providing guidance to shipbuilders via as-built surveys and set out using reports and onsite guidance.
In a balanced onsite and in office environment you will use the 3D model for set out and as-built comparisons. Being exposed to scanning, 3D modelling and reverse engineering; working with state of the art equipment. Within our cutting edge fabrication facility you will work in pairs, in a team environment with a positive training, and social culture.
This role should appeal to experienced surveyors looking to take the next step in their surveying career, or those with applicable backgrounds looking to start their shipbuilding surveying career.
Position will consider various previous experiences from relevant industries, including: engineering, cadastral and civil, drafting, and 3D modelling backgrounds.
Core Duties:
- Complete as-built inspections and provide reports and direction as required.
- Provide mark out surveys in accordance with survey plan
- Understand and interpret product build tolerances and measurement equipment capabilities.
Essential Skills:
- Certificate III or higher in Surveying or relevant surveying experience Highly desired
- Relevant trade qualification –Desired
- Degree in Surveying, Spatial Systems or Engineering –Desired
- Experience using total Stations or Laser Trackers.
- Auto CAD, 3D surveying software exposure
- Must be eligible to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance.
