Job Title: Early Careers & Skills Development Coach (Engineering) 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Maternity Cover

Job Location: Scotstoun – Hybrid-First 3 months 4 days a week – Fridays working from home. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Role Description:

This is an opportunity to support modern learning practices as an integral part of the learning and assessment programme, through providing a direct hands-on approach around career guidance and progression. You will be able to make your mark by inspiring the next generation of engineers within BAE Systems, providing you with a wide exposure to the business.

Core Duties:

  • Deliver outstanding coaching, learning and assessment practices that engage and inspire learners to fulfil their individual potential and develop the skills, knowledge and behaviors to successfully progress within the business
  • Take professional pride in their role and embrace continuous professional development opportunities in support of delivering innovative and impactful coaching, learning and assessment
  • Assess and monitor learner progress & performance in line with frameworks and legislative requirements to ensure occupational competence
  • Coach learners to reach their full potential by providing key support, mentoring, challenge and motivation throughout all aspects of their learning journey
  • Develop learners that are innovative thinkers and creative problem solvers, through coaching and delivering learning content as part of a blended learning pedagogy focused on delivering vocational excellence

Essential Skills:

  • Subject matter expert on Engineering, Graduate and Modern Apprenticeship
  • Background in engineering with engineering qualification
  • Design Engineering (structural, electrical, mechanical or combat systems) experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Awarding Bodies & SDS Quality Standards
  • Knowledge and experience of assessment/ verification practices and awarding body requirement
  • Enhanced DBS and full security clearance
  • L&D9 – Assessor Qualification (Training can be provided)
