DESIGN INTEGRATION ENGINEER

Role Description:

We have an exciting opportunity working within the Zonal Integration Team under direction and in support of the Project Manager – Zonal Integration Support.

You will work alongside multi-disciplinary Engineers (Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Combat Systems etc.) and support Design Zone Leads in successful progression of Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) Design Zones through the Zonal program and HCF Design Completion.

Core Duties:

  • Organise and co-ordinate aspects of engineering activity within the HCFP that enable the successful delivery of the Zonal Program Engineering Reviews and HCF Design Completion
  • From assigned assurance systems and design tools, deliver evidence into the various internal design reviews that empower design zone leads to present with confidence, the HCF design, to the various review Chairs
  • Interface closely with delivery domains to identify and resolve cross domain issues affecting progress through the program milestones and engineering reviews
  • Support design zone leads to effectively manage risks and priorities in the leadup to design reviews
  • Own and deliver review content, managing inputs from multiple disciplines across HCFP to support engineering design review events
  • Identify opportunities to improve assurance systems and design tools, with the objective of optimising the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of outputs
  • Support the delivery of detail design engineering enablers
  • In fulfilment of the above duties, utilise HCF management tools including, Jira, Windchill, Codebeamer and Tableau
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with the applicable configuration management, change management and traceability processes
  • Independently review peers’ work, identify technical risks and unknowns and support planning activities, providing Engineering status and metrics reporting
  • Develop an understanding of the application of the BAE Systems Australia Business Management System (BMS) engineering process, fostering a culture of openness, responsibility and consistent correctness and completeness
  • Work within agreed project technical, cost and schedule constraints
  • Comply with the requirements of the BAE Systems Australia Quality System as they relate to your areas of activity
  • Provide input and offer recommendations for improvement of company processes and standard procedures

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience working within Engineering Discipline
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
