Job Description

Job Title: Apprentice Skills Coach (Aircraft Maintenance)

Location: Humberside, with occasional national travel when required. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Circa £49,000 depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering CAA Part-66 (PT66) modules in line with approved syllabi and training plans
  • Providing aircraft maintenance practical training aligned to apprenticeship standards
  • Delivering mechanical workshop training, including the safe use of tools, equipment and materials
  • Supporting learners to develop technical knowledge, practical competence and professional behaviours
  • Planning and preparing lessons, schemes of work and learning materials to meet regulatory requirements
  • Assessing learner progress and competence, providing clear feedback and coaching
  • Maintaining accurate training, assessment and attendance records
  • Promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory and health & safety requirements

Your skills and experiences:

  • Practical experience working on aircraft within a maintenance or engineering environment
  • CAA Part-66 (PT66) knowledge relevant to aircraft maintenance activities
  • Hands-on experience with aircraft tools, equipment and mechanical workshop practices
  • Experience working to aviation regulatory and health & safety requirements
  • Experience following approved procedures and organisational standards within an aircraft environment
  • Experience delivering apprenticeship training is desirable

The Early Careers Team:

You’ll be joining the Aircraft Maintenance Academy, reporting to the Early Careers Manager. The team is responsible for delivering high-quality technical and practical training to aircraft maintenance apprentices, as well as internal and external customers. The academy provides classroom-based theory, workshop-based mechanical training, and aircraft maintenance practical instruction, along with specialist technical skills training. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the next generation of aircraft maintenance professionals by helping them develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they need to succeed.
