Job Description

APM Terminals

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be apart of our journey.

As a Senior Planner, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven (NTB) Transformation Project—one of APM Terminals' major strategic investment programmes. Based onsite in Bremerhaven, Germany, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining integrated project schedules across multiple construction, automation, equipment, and business integration workstreams. Working closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders, you will provide reliable planning insights that enable informed decision-making, effective risk management, and successful project delivery.

What We Can Offer

At APMT Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement is driven by Lean principles, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • Contribute to a large-scale terminal transformation project with significant operational and business impact.
  • Collaborate with international project teams across construction, automation, equipment, and business transformation disciplines.
  • Develop your expertise in project controls, integrated planning, and complex infrastructure delivery within a global organisation.
  • Gain exposure to global project management practices and opportunities for future career progression across APM Terminals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and control the integrated resource-loaded project master schedule using Primavera P6/OPC in accordance with APM Terminals standards.
  • Consolidate and integrate schedules from consultants, contractors, suppliers, and vendors into a single master project schedule.
  • Establish and maintain project baselines, managing schedule changes, milestones, interfaces, and reporting deviations through structured governance.
  • Analyse and communicate critical path activities, schedule risks, dependencies, and opportunities to support proactive project delivery.
  • Produce schedule performance reporting, including S-curves, variance analysis, critical path monitoring, and Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.
  • Facilitate planning, schedule review, and risk workshops while supporting time impact assessments and schedule optimisation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure schedule alignment across construction, business integration, and project controls disciplines.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently puts customers first, leads by example with respect for people, delivers results with integrity, and drives continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.
  • Minimum of 10–12 years of planning and scheduling experience on large-scale construction, infrastructure, or capital projects.
  • Advanced expertise in Primavera P6/OPC, with experience managing integrated master schedules across multiple work packages.
  • Proven experience with resource-loaded schedules, Earned Value Management (EVM), schedule controls, and project performance reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse technical and cultural environments.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required, while Power BI experience is advantageous.
