The Structures team at Airbus India is seeking a professional Overall Aircraft Tolerancing Engineer for a permanent, full-time role based in Bangalore, India. You will be responsible for conducting tolerance studies, cascading functional requirements, and ensuring design compliance using CATIA V5 and 3DCS.
Requirements
5 - 8 years of experience as a Tolerancing Engineer with knowledge of aircraft structures
Graduate / Post Graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Proficiency in ISO 1101 or ASME Y14.5 standards, 3DCS, and CATIA V5
Exposure to manufacturing of auto or aero components, installation, and retrofit solutions
Skills & Responsibilities
Tolerance Studies: Perform 1D, 2D, or 3D tolerance studies and formalize tolerance reports and drawing sets using ISO 1101 or ASME Y14.5 standards.
CATIA V5 & 3DCS: Utilize 3DCS and CATIA effectively for creating 2D drawings with geometrical annotations and executing statistical tolerance calculations.
Design Optimization: Recommend design changes and optimize manufacturing processes to mitigate elementary part tolerance accumulation and support assembly and manufacturing.
Interchangeability & Compliance: Define and implement contractual interchangeability requirements and guarantee compliance with Tolerancing/DVA rules.
Potential transition routes: People from Mechanical Design or Quality Engineering roles may bring relevant CAD and manufacturing knowledge, alongside meeting the required aerospace tolerancing and structural design experience.

The Structures team at Airbus India is looking for an Overall Aircraft Tolerancing Engineer to join the Tolerancing team at Airbus India, Bangalore.
Job scope (Tasks & accountabilities):
1D, 2D or 3D Tolerance studies, formalization of tolerance report & drawing set, cascading functional requirements down to contributors. (Top down/Bottom up approach)
Achievement of cascade of tolerances in the drawing set by use of geometrical annotation respecting ISO 1101 or ASME Y14.5 standards.
Define and implement contractual interchangeability requirements in the drawing set.
Guarantee compliance with the Tolerancing/DVA rules in the whole aircraft development process.
Understand Design principles from the perspective of "Assembly & Manufacturing" (Interfaces & Capability)
To be able to recommend design changes and/or optimize manufacturing processes in order to mitigate the accumulation of elementary part tolerances.
Understand & execute tolerance calculation using different Statistical approach
To be able to use CATIA effectively for the creation of 2D drawings with geometrical annotations
