Job Description:

The mission of Flight Tests Instrumentation Architecture & Equipment is to provide Flight Test Means to gather data from the test object (on A/C) for further evaluation.
Our range of capabilities covers: special systems (on board installations), quick response (multidisciplinary knowledge and quick troubleshooting), technologies (sensors -including quality & metrology; data acquisition & distribution, recording, video, telemetry, time synchronization...) and also manufacturing capability (onboard racks manufacturing, equipment manufacturing and qualification, etc)

You will be part of a team responsible for the full life cycle of a Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) installation for development aircraft. From conception to deployment, going through equipment and system integration.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Definition and Design of Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) installations onboard Flight Test Aircrafts for Eurofighter program. Compile and analyse the requirements and the necessary information to: specify, design, build and provide a FTI system, including all the equipment -HW, SW, digital systems, etc-.

- Prepare (define, perform and document) FTI Documentation to be provided to A/C installation Design Offices (and also and system integration tests on FTI Laboratory Facilities) bringing technical orientation and solutions in accordance with internal manuals and procedures on quality, cost and time.

- Coordinate and manage FTI in general with main stakeholders and all the associated activities under our scope (budget, export control, stock, spares, V&V activities). This also includes the updates during the development phase and also an appropriate level of support of the anomalies in service (investigation and solving).

- Make or Buy processes. New instrumentation technologies for future project’s needs.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level in Engineering in the area of electronics/aeronautics and/or telecommunications.
  • Previous experiences in Testing Activities.
  • Data acquisition system expertise for acquiring analog, digital and bus signals. Configuration of network devices: routers and switches.
  • Experience in Telemetry equipment (transmitters, antennas, amplifiers, cabling and elements calibration, operation) and Global Navigation Satellite Systems.
  • Radio Frequency chain (transmitters, cabling and elements calibration and operation)
  • WAN/LAN protocols stack (TCP/UDP, IP, PTP, SNMP, Ethernet, ...)
  • Network Simulation & Analysis tools (Wireshark -dissectors-, IPerf, ...)
  • Programming Skills in LUA, LAbView or Python is also valuable.
  • Knowledge of the following documentation and tools are valuable: A/C installation documentation, NRD, A400M FTI Block Diagrams, Drawing Information Sheets and FTI Data Sheets, Sabre, Sabre Criev, STILo, N-Show, RODAS, EPD, TLB, FTI databases, DOORS..
  • High ability to understand/find-out the behaviour of electronic devices and digital protocols.
  • Team spirit to work as part of a multidisciplinary team (sometimes under pressure).
  • Proactivity in problems finding and solutions proposals.
  • Methodical, organized and assertive profile is expected.
  • English Advanced Level required.
