Our contract at Brize Norton with the MOD states we will provide a continuous service to cover 24 hours, 7 days a week and 365 days a year to the Royal Air Force, to maintain and ensure airworthiness of their fleet of aircraft.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Optimisation Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the resolution and integration of aircraft-related issues, ensuring seamless coordination across diverse stakeholders. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all Retrofit activities for the UK A400M fleet. Furthermore, you will act as the PtM representative for long-term AOG recoveries, working in close collaboration with the responsible Pt145 AOG team members to ensure the smooth execution of events and effective management of daily escalations.
Your core responsibilities will include cross-departmental coordination, the oversight of technical assessments, and the provision of solutions for unforeseen operational events. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
- Long-Term Project Management - Support long-term AOG recovery projects, including work packs, spares, and preservation tasks. Oversee long-term ADF management. Coordinate critical asset management.
- Technical Coordination - Act as the focal point throughout an aircraft retrofit event, ensuring all activities are coordinated and completed efficiently. Managing defect input, ensuring compliance with pre-input deadlines. Performing technical assessments and acceptance of defect rectifications.
- Escalation Management - Daily escalation of blocking points for retrofit aircraft, including robberies, spares, and technical queries. Providing alternative solutions to the organisation for unexpected events.
- Communication and Collaboration - Act as the point of contact (PoC) for complex escalations, ensuring close relations are upheld with the customer and various enabling departments.
- Capabilities Management - Close liaison with the planning department to ensure aircraft status and configuration for planned exercises and operations is fully planned and executed.
- Continuous Improvement - Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Implement innovative solutions to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
ABOUT YOU
- Experience in aviation maintenance, technical coordination, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles and PtM/Pt145 Regulations.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures, technical assessments, and defect rectification.
- Ability to provide alternative solutions to unexpected events and manage complex escalations.
- Relevant certifications in aviation maintenance or technical coordination.
