We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aerodynamicist to join our core engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the aerodynamic design and characterization of air inlets and outlets as well as some experience on complete aircraft and/or fuselage and tail (empennage) aerodynamics. You will play a critical role in the aerodynamic integration of the systems and APU of our aircraft, from initial concept to detailed design, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. This position requires deep expertise in CATIA and/or 3DX for surface modeling and extensive experience with CFD for both internal and external aerodynamic analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the aerodynamic design and characterization of air inlets and outlets of air systems and APU
  • Develop high-quality surface geometry and 3D models using CATIA and/or 3DX, ensuring compliance with aerodynamic, structural, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Perform comprehensive CFD simulations to analyze and validate both internal and external aerodynamic performance (drag, stability, control).
  • Analyze simulation results, prepare detailed technical reports, and present findings and recommendations to the stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, including Structures, Propulsion, and Systems, to achieve a fully integrated and optimized aircraft design.
  • Support wind tunnel and flight testing activities, from test preparation and execution to post-processing and analysis of results.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our aerodynamic design methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of professional experience in an aerodynamic design role within the aerospace industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in the aerodynamic design and characterization of air inlets and outlets.
  • Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and surface shaping, specifically with CATIA and or 3DX.
  • Extensive hands-on experience setting up, running, and analyzing CFD simulations for complex aerospace applications.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, and aircraft stability & control.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CFD solver Ansys Fluent.
  • Experience with meshing software such as ANSA and Fluent Meshing.
  • Experience with aerodynamic optimization tools and methods (e.g., adjoint solvers, MDO).
  • Knowledge of aircraft certification requirements (e.g., EASA CS-25).
  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for process automation and data analysis.
