At the Airbus Helicopters site in Donauwörth, we are looking for a

Project Manager - External Mission Systems (m/f/d)

Your place of work: Donauwörth
At our site in Donauwörth, located on the banks of the Danube near Augsburg, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the final airworthy product. Become part of Airbus Helicopters at our Donauwörth site and watch the finished products take off and land from our own airfield.

Your responsibilities with us:

  • Responsibility for projects in the Vehicle Mission Systems department
  • Identify the development lifecycle activities necessary to develop a system/product to meet regulations and program requirements
  • Define the subsystem architecture, including the functional and physical breakdown of the subsystem components and the associated interfaces
  • Specifying subsystem requirements (export control, regulations, safety, environment, function, performance, electrical, mechanical, etc.) and assigning requirements to the component level and other subsystems
  • Managing an external work package developed by a supplier and subcontractor, from selection to final delivery
  • Validate and verify the requirements defined by the subsystem
  • Develop technical leadership in close collaboration between engineering and all other disciplines involved throughout the subsystem lifecycle

You have the following qualifications/skills:

  • Completed degree (Bachelor’s with additional qualification or Master’s) in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Alternative: Completed 3-year vocational training with further qualification as a Technician and relevant extensive experience.
  • Experience in a military environment / defense sector
  • Project management experience or experience in technical/functional leadership
  • Languages: Fluent in English; French is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of aviation requirements and regulations is desirable
  • Proficiency in MS Office / GSuite and SAP (or similar). Ability to consistently adhere to standards and guidelines, and to propose or contribute to continuous improvements.
