In order to support the Assembly Manufacturing Engineering Community, Airbus is looking for a

Drilling/ Assembly Specialist (d/f/m) - Manufacturing Technologies

The successful candidate will join the Dissemination Team, which is part of the larger Assembly Technologies Team within Airbus Commercial. We are a highly motivated and engaged transnational team located across 10 different sites in four countries. Our team of experts and specialists is committed to improving current production systems and defining technologies that will shape future manufacturing processes. We drive a strong connection to our plants and generate value on the shop floor by implementing new technologies and processes, keeping operators at the heart of everything we do. Our goal is to use our expertise and network to develop robust technology, bringing a competitive advantage for current and future programmes.

Your location

You will be working in the city of Hamburg with the largest production sites for civil aircraft. With its location north of the Elbe River in City Nord your office is close to the airport and the Stadtpark (city park). Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Leading assembly topics dedicated to the A350 ramp-up and A350F industrialisation
  • Developing new assembly initiatives, focusing on blind fasteners, connected assets and process monitoring
  • Managing assembly projects focused on achieving best-in-class processes in close collaboration with production and assembly sites
  • Supporting production sites to adapt assembly processes, ensuring production cycle stabilisation and cost improvement
  • Analysing and assessing the benefits of proposed solutions against key figures of merit, including safety, sustainability, process capability, rate and cost
  • Identifying and resolving low-maturity technical issues while contributing actively to the transnational network
  • Collaborating strongly with Design Engineering, manufacturing plants, the Research and Technology network and supplier partners

This role will involve some travel for business twice a month in Europe, and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in engineering or a related discipline paired with practical experience
  • Solid experience in manufacturing, engineering and assembly processes, with a deep understanding of industrial manufacturing systems
  • Strong technical knowledge of assembly processes and tools
  • Proven ability to manage complex and dynamic projects autonomously within a transnational environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of hierarchy
  • Open communication style and a cooperative mindset to work effectively and energise others within diverse teams
  • Negotiation level in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory
