Why Flexa might not be for you

🚀 We work fast and intensely, hence why we offer so much downtime. It's not an easy ride just because it's flexible.

🥇 Promotion and progression come from being exceptional, but there aren't frameworks or ladders, it's all based on output and impact.

🌀 There's a lack of structure - you own your role and you'll often work outside of your job description. If you aren't comfortable with that, you will struggle.

🌊 Flexibility goes both ways - sometimes there'll be less to do and you can switch off quite happily, other times you'll be working later to get work done.

📱 We expect people to have Slack on their phones and be contactable, this means we can offer such flexibility and don't need to monitor hours, so we have people gymming at lunch, travelling the world, or picking their kids up guilt free.

Ultimately, we treat people like adults, and expect the same behaviour in return to make our flexibility really work. For many people, it's their ideal working environment, but it's not for everyone, and that's totally ok!

Flexible working at Flexa

  • 🏡 Flexa is a UK-based remote-first company. 

    This means that you’ll spend most of your time working from home, wherever you live around the UK – and you’ll come to London for one day a month, when our whole team comes together to work and socialise. (Your travel and accommodation for these monthly meet-ups will be paid for if you live too far to travel back on the night.

  • ⏰ We operate within core working hours of 11am-3pm. Please note – this doesn’t mean you’ll only be working within this time! 

    Our team mostly works pretty typical working hours. However, our core hours policy means that as long as you are online and working between 11am-3pm, we don’t mind when you choose to start and finish outside of this. For example, you might be an early bird who logs on at 8am and wraps up around 5ish, or you might be more of a night owl who prefers to start at 10am and finish later in the evening. 

    As long as you are completing your work to the expected standard, you are empowered to make your own choices here. There are peaks and troughs in terms of workload, as you’d expect within a startup. We value the quality of your output over presenteeism. 

  • ☀️ We also work a 4.5 day week most weeks, as long as everything is wrapped up for the week then we finish at 2pm (or the equivalent time if you start later)

    ⚖️ We are very open to discussions around part-time, compressed hours, and any alternative ways of working, so please do mention it in your application or interview!

Being remote is perfect for me and suits my preferred way of working (which often changes).
