Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you’ll build

You will help build the next generation of SAP Business AI for Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), embedding LLMs, predictive forecasting, agents, and RAG directly into SAP’s financial core.

Our vision is to transform FP&A into a decision‑intelligence hub that unifies data across finance, supply chain, and HR. Through agentic workflows and generative insights, we enable organizations to not only predict the future but to shape it, ensuring that every financial decision is grounded in deep, cross-functional context and global compliance. This AI‑native approach turns finance teams into strategic partners who can predict and shape future outcomes.

As a greenfield initiative, you’ll help define the technical architecture from scratch. Supported by SAP’s latest technologies — BTP, SAP Analytics Cloud, and Business AI — you’ll decide how to combine them into a category‑defining product.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex, production‑grade GenAI and ML services on SAP BTP.

  • Build and optimize RAG workflows, including embedding pipelines, document indexing, retrieval strategies, evaluation frameworks, and observability components.

  • Drive the technical implementation of complex AI features

  • Ensure all AI models deliver high‑fidelity, trustworthy, and auditable financial insights for enterprise-grade use cases.

  • Define and enforce Responsible AI, security, and compliance standards when working with global financial data.

  • Oversee and enhance CI/CD processes, automated testing pipelines, deployment workflows, and MLOps/LLMOps best practices.

  • Collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and domain experts to deliver AI capabilities on a global scale.

  • Mentor junior developers and promote best engineering practices across the team.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development ideally including some exposure to AI/ML engineering

  • Proficiency in Python (preferred), Java or similar languages with experience in relevant frameworks

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean code, test automation, Git/GitHub, code reviews, and architectural design.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Collaborative and results‑oriented mindset.

  • High curiosity and eagerness to explore emerging AI technologies.

Nice to have but not a must

  • Expertise in designing, scaling, and optimizing complex AI workflows, including multi-step reasoning, decision-making pipelines, and RAG architectures.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure ML, GCP, AWS, or Databricks).

  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and cloud‑native architectures.

  • Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

  • Understanding of MLOps/LLMOps practices and tools like MLflow.

  • Experience with agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph, crewAI, etc.).

  • Experience consuming LLM APIs (OpenAI, Hugging Face).

Where you belong

SAP powers the world’s most mission critical business processes and our new engineering hub in SAP Labs Brno taking on one of the most ambitious initiatives in enterprise technology: transforming how global companies plan, forecast, and steer their business.

You’ll help turn static financial processes into autonomous, AI‑driven systems used by global enterprises. If you want to grow quickly, learn from experienced engineers, and build AI with real impact, this is where you belong.

  • SAP will provide continuous training to increase your qualification

  • Flexible working hours and home office option

  • SAP will fully refund salary for sick days (12 per year) and sick leaves (up to one month)

  • 5 weeks of vacation per year

  • Meal vouchers, fully paid by company

  • Company car and company phone according to the company car policy

  • Contribution to sport/culture/leisure
