What You’ll Build

Position title: SAP iXp Intern – DevOps Engineer
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia
Expected start date to end date: September 2026-April 2027
What You’ll Build
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer Intern to join our team supporting and improving the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of SAP Integration Suite. This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, automation, observability, and modern software delivery practices while working alongside experienced engineers in an inclusive and growth-oriented environment.
You will contribute to meaningful projects that support the systems powering our business and serving customers around the world. With guidance and mentorship from the team, you will:
- Support the development and automation of infrastructure and software delivery workflows using DevOps best practices.
- Help monitor system health, performance, and availability, and assist with investigating operational issues.
- Collaborate with local and global cross-functional teams to improve system architecture, application performance, and developer workflows.
- Identify and automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Participate in incident reviews and post-mortem discussions to learn how production systems are supported and continuously improved.
- Contribute to internal tools, scripts, dashboards, documentation, and proof-of-concept projects.
- Explore opportunities to apply AI-assisted and agentic AI technologies to DevOps and operational workflows.
- Learn and promote DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices across the organization.
What You Bring
We are looking for students who bring curiosity, initiative, unique perspectives, and a passion for learning. You will thrive in this role if you bring:
- Current enrollment in a degree or diploma program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of cloud computing, software development, automation, or infrastructure concepts.
- Experience with at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, Bash, or a similar language.
- Familiarity with software development practices, version control systems such as Git, and automated testing or continuous integration concepts.
- An interest in cloud platforms, container technologies, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, observability, or identity and access management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to investigate unfamiliar technical issues.
- An interest in using AI tools responsibly, including validating AI-generated outputs and exploring how AI can improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, global team environment.
- A growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new technologies, tools, and engineering methodologies.
- Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Integration Suite, Cloud Integration, API Management, or related technologies is considered an asset but is not required.
