Lead Radar Developer
Job Description
Lead Radar Developer
- Develop hands-on pricing and Radar skills, supported by experienced teams as you grow into an independent pricing developer
- Designing, building and implementing pricing models and rating logic to support robust, compliant pricing decisions
- 80% hybrid working with 20% from our Stratford Upon Avon Office
About the role
Working in Pricing at NFU Mutual feels genuinely different. With a clear focus on customers rather than shareholders, the team’s work has real impact, supporting local communities, protecting livelihoods, and helping our UK‑wide Agency Network deliver exceptional service. Our Pricing team is central to how we support our customers, and its role is becoming even more crucial.
The team is expanding and creating exciting opportunities to join at a pivotal moment. By working closely with colleagues across the business, you’ll play an important role in shaping and delivering successful outcomes for our customers. You’ll join a Pricing team committed to continuous improvement, offering ongoing opportunities to grow, add value and make a real difference.
As a Lead Radar Developer within the Design and Deployment team, you’ll support the development of pricing models, proactive design improvements, investigations and providing pricing expertise to support IT change and remediation activities. You'll play a key role in designing the logic behind pricing decisions, transforming pricing strategy into structured, tested and governed rating systems that deliver intended business and customer outcomes.
You’ll work closely with Pricing, Underwriting, IT and wider departments, providing pricing and algorithm expertise to wider change activity. Alongside this, you’ll continue developing your technical capability and pricing knowledge, supported by a collaborative team focused on continuous improvement.
Internally this role is called Lead Pricing Analyst.
About you
To succeed in this role, you'll bring a strong analytical mindset, with experience working with data, solving problems and handling complex datasets to support decision-making. Naturally curious and investigative in your approach, you'll enjoy identifying issues, understanding root causes and applying effective solutions that deliver positive customer and business outcomes. You'll be comfortable working in a delivery-focused environment, managing activities through to resolution while collaborating with a range of stakeholders. With excellent communication skills and a continuous learning mindset, you'll be keen to develop your technical expertise and grow your pricing knowledge within a supportive and collaborative team.
Alongside this, you’ll bring:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with large or complex datasets.
- Experience using SQL, coding, Radar or an equivalent technical capability, with the desire to continue developing your technical expertise.
- Proven ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and communicate technical outputs clearly to a range of audiences.
- Experience contributing to project or change delivery, with the ability to manage work through to completion.
- A degree in a numerical, computing or data-related subject, or an equivalent professional qualification. (desirable)
