Job Description

Canopy is a natively‑remote, fast‑growing SaaS company providing motorsport simulation software to all major motorsport series, and to OEMs, around the world. As a small and agile team, we pride ourselves on operational excellence, responsiveness, and a supportive, collaborative culture.

We’re looking for a highly capable Operations Manager to work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to understand and, over time, take ownership of a broad range of back‑office and operational functions.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a varied, hands‑on environment and wants to play a key part in the smooth running and scaling of a SaaS business.

You will act as the right hand to the COO, trusted to run processes independently, improve them where needed, and ensure operational tasks are executed accurately and on time.

You’ll enjoy a varied working day — everything from bookkeeping, to scheduling annual reviews, to corresponding with customers. Initially we envisage this as a part-time role, 16 hours per week, with complete flexibility in terms of the specific hours/days worked providing there can be an appropriate amount of overlap with the COO's hours. Over time there will be scope to increase these hours.

Below is a list of some of the functions and tasks the role will encompass, but precise activities will change week to week depending on the business needs. To begin with you'll be shadowing the COO to understand and prioritise a broad range of tasks;

(1) Finance & Bookkeeping
• Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping using Xero.
• Prepare and send customer quotations and invoices and monitor receivables.
• Coordinate supplier payments.
• Support monthly reporting and reconciliation tasks as required.

(2) HR & People Operations
• Coordinate annual reviews, interviews, onboarding etc.
• Organise coworking days and fun-days.
• Coordinate national and international travel plans for the team.

(3) Operations & Administration
• Manage supplier relationships, renewals, and procurement tasks.
• Support with Group level compliance tasks.
• Assist with ad‑hoc project work and operational improvements.

(4) Customer & Internal Communications
• Provide support on internal and external communications.
• Assist with drafting internal announcements and team updates.
• Handle general inbox enquiries and route issues appropriately.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential
• Experience using Xero or similar cloud‑based accounting software.
• Proven experience in an operations, administration, finance or HR‑support role.
• Excellent written communication and professional correspondence skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Comfortable working remotely, independently, and proactively.
• Great interpersonal skills, to support our remote team.

Desirable
• Exposure to a SaaS or tech‑enabled business.
• Familiarity with modern workplace tools (Teams, Slack, etc.).
• Customer relationship management experience.
• Experience in a communications/media/marketing environment.

Personal Attributes
• Proactive, dependable, and able to take ownership of tasks end to end.
• Calm under pressure; able to manage competing priorities.
• Confident communicator who can represent the business professionally.
• Resourceful problem solver who enjoys variety and learning new things.
• Values accuracy, integrity, and trust.

Benefits
• Fully remote and flexible role within UK time zone.
• Opportunity to grow with the business and take on increased responsibility and hours.
• Supportive, collaborative working environment.
• Chance to work closely with senior leaders and shape operational processes.
