The Interface and Integration Expert is part of the team responsible for the design, execution and validation of terminal automation. He/she will be responsible for automation design, system integration, and continuous improvement per the Terminal operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, integration, and validation of terminal automation systems in alignment with defined technical architecture and operational requirements
  • Define, manage, and maintain interface specifications across automation equipment, civil infrastructure, and enterprise IT systems
  • Configure, test, and deploy automation enhancements including PLCs, SCADA, and HMI platforms
  • Oversee system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities to ensure performance, safety, and third‑party system compatibility
  • Review and approve vendor technical designs to ensure compliance with system architecture, interface standards, and operational expectations
  • Manage vendors across the system lifecycle, including performance tracking, issue resolution, and post‑handover support
  • Partner with terminal stakeholders to identify and deliver system improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and overall terminal reliability

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a strong mindset of continuous improvement – someone who is naturally curious, committed to solving problems at the root, and driven to make things better every day
  • University or higher vocational degree in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; post‑graduate study in Control Engineering preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in industrial system design, system integration, or automation engineering roles
  • Demonstrated experience delivering automation or integration projects, including functional requirements, control design, and commissioning documentation
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions, cultures, and organizational levels
  • Proven technical capability with industrial automation technologies, including PLCs (Siemens/TIA Portal), SCADA/WinCC, industrial networks and protocols, and commissioning activities

Technical Skills & Tools

  • PLC programming and configuration (Siemens, ladder logic, ST, FBD, IL)
  • HMI and SCADA systems (WinCC)
  • Industrial networking and protocols (OPC UA, TCP/IP, Profibus, Profinet, CAN‑Bus)
  • Scripting and data tools (Python, C#, SQL, Power BI)
  • Hardware, instrumentation design, and on‑site commissioning support

Salary: $140K - $160K

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Role Scope & Work Environment

You will report directly to the Interface & Integration Director. This role has no direct reports but is expected to supervise multiple contractors and third‑party vendors. Work is performed primarily on‑site at the terminal in Los Angeles, CA, across indoor and outdoor environments, with occasional domestic and international travel.
