Job Title: QA Automation Engineer

Location: Fully Remote, Lviv, Ukraine

Contract Type: Full time, contractor, 40 hour week

Interviews: Max 3 stages totalling around 4 hours and one stage will be technical task

We are seeking a highly technical and proactive Engineer to add further support to the Engineering Team. The right person will make a significant impact by helping enhance our Engineering Team’s capabilities in delivering high-quality software solutions.

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in driving our software quality assurance lifecycle, working closely with QA and Software Engineers within our development team to establish test strategies, and developing automated tests to ensure our releases meet the highest standards. Your expertise will also extend to maintaining our CI flows and troubleshooting system issues. We would love to hear from you if you have the criteria below: 📬

  • 2+ years experience as a QA Automation Engineer
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in Java programming language
  • Expertise in web application testing (Selenium WebDriver, PageObjects)
  • Expertise in Java Test Frameworks (TestNG/JUnit)
  • Familiarity with version control and continuous delivery tools (GIT, Jenkins)
  • Understanding of dockerization principles and microservice architecture
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, ability to write simple queries
  • Passion for learning new technologies and for continuous improvement
  • The ability to work across a remote team and communicate effectively

Nice to have:

  • Experience in a remote, SaaS company
  • A Master's degree education

The day-to-day job: 👩‍💻

While the below is not an exhaustive list of your duties, it outlines the bulk of the role on a day-to-day basis.

  • Provide software quality assurance lifecycle within our Agile process
  • Design and implement new test plans and test cases for automated scripts
  • Develop and execute automated functional and UI tests
  • Enhance and maintain automated CI flows
  • Troubleshoot issues in systems under test
  • Work well under low supervision, initiate and progress various activities in an independent manner and as part of a group effort

  • We are a 40 hour week, Mon-Fri and have core hours, unless stated otherwise or agreed. Being a small remote team, it's how we operate
  • We have various meetings per week and people are expected to attend and contribute
  • Everyone has the opportunity to query, ask questions, have new ideas and we will give you our opinion. We operate on continuous feedback and recognition, this isn’t for everyone and if this makes you uncomfortable or it’s not your thing, probably not a good fit for either of us.

Interview Process:

  1. Intro Call: You will carry out an intro call with our recruiter in the Ukraine
  2. Interview: If after the intro call, we’re both excited to proceed, you will be invited to a second stage interview with Zhanna, Head of Technology and perhaps another applicable Manager. This stage may include a technical task before or after the interview.
  3. Final Interview: Will be with Sarah, Head of People & Operations and Zhanna, Head of Technology
