Rival is looking for a creative, entrepreneurial Producer to lead our media team. We are building a modern media company for challenger marketers and want to find someone who can take this opportunity and run with it.

As our lead Producer you will play an exciting part in scaling and expanding the Rival content and events ecosystem.

We are a distributed team with people across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia. You can work from anywhere in the world.

Role

You will spend most of your time…

  • Overseeing all our content and events planning, production, and distribution
  • Managing key media properties, including our flagship podcast, newsletter, and CMO dinners
  • Developing and improving our editorial strategy to produce more and better content as well as our distribution strategy to grow our audience and engagement
  • Developing and launching new properties and breakthrough creative activations
  • Using data and audience feedback to drive efficiencies in our content and distribution strategy and tactics
  • Building a pipeline of sponsorship opportunities and managing existing sponsors
  • Managing and expanding a team of producers and creators across written, audio, and video content and events
  • You will be coming on board to lead our media team, reporting directly to our CEO and managing our Podcast Producer, and part-time Designer, Content Writer, and Events Manager, as well as our post-production agency partner.

  • You will be joining the Rival journey at an exciting time. We launched in November 2021 and have already grown to eight people, with big plans for what we want to build over the next few years.
  • This role has a big opportunity for progression for the right candidate. Depending on your level of experience and skill set, we are open to this role continuing to run our media team and operations as we scale, eventually turning it into a business unit with the Rival Group, which would come with huge upside.

Requirements

We'd like this candidate to have...

We do not require a minimum years of experience, but you do need to have some/significant experience in:

  • Digital marketing as a subject matter expert
  • Editorial and distribution strategy to grow and engage an audience
  • Production of written, audio (i.e. podcasts), and video content
  • Growth hacking for content across owned (SEO), paid (performance marketing), and earned (PR/influencer/partnership) distribution
  • Strong organisational skills along with the demonstrated ability to work to a deadline
  • A start up mentality and personality: you're mission driven and not afraid to get stuck in
  • Able to attend meetings in-person at least one week each quarter and travel for company events twice a year
  • No university degree required - we value your experience and skills
  • Being a good person and a great team player!

We would be particularly excited if you have experience in:

  • Event management
  • Media sales and/or sponsorship management
  • Managing and growing a team

Compensation

  • Our compensation philosophy is to pay mid-market base with top-market upside
  • There are three components to our compensation package
    • Base Salary - pegged to UK average for management consulting (to reduce the gender and ethnic pay gap) and adjust based on cost of living for your city
    • Profit Share - a % of the company’s profit is shared each quarter with all employees who have been with the company for one year or more
    • Employee Options - all employees are eligible for our options scheme after they’ve been with the company for two years
  • The base salary for this role based in London (or similar cost of living city) is £45,000-55,000
    • Per the above, the salary range is fixed and will be adjusted based on where you live e.g. if you live in NYC, the cost of living adjustment would make your salary $59,000-$69,000
