Role Purpose/Business Unit:

This role is directly responsible for ensuring the scalability of digital platforms within Vodacom and will be actively involved in designing and delivering software development that is fit for purpose in the future. The role requires knowledge of architectures, languages, and frameworks for web platforms.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Work collaboratively within an existing squad and support IT teams to ensure high-quality software delivery
• Work closely with the Business and IT teams to understand business strategy and contribute to the achievement of strategic goals
• Provide oversight to the investigation, analysis, and management of technology risks, issues, and dependencies in all programs/projects
• Provide oversight and standards for CI/CD pipelines, relevant documentation, and agile practices.
• Conduct periodic reviews with the team for continual improvement
• Automate controls and metrics to improve development standards and principles
• Encourage best practices and knowledge sharing with all stakeholders
• Participate in detailed-level technical solution definition and design to achieve stable web applications

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Matric (essential)
• 3-year National Diploma or Bachelor degree in IT or related (essential)
• 3-5 years experience with Node.js and React (essential)
• Experience working with SQL databases (advantageous)
• Experience in AWS (advantageous)

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
• Experience in developing web applications
• Experience in designing and developing UX/UI components
• Experience in AWS deployment
• Solid understanding and practical experience with REST APIs
• Proficient in JavasScript, Node.js and React for frontend and backend development and scripting
• Extensive experience in HTML/CSS skills
