About this Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with 7–9 years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, JPA, Oracle, and Microservices. This role is responsible for building robust backend components that support business logic, data persistence, scheduled functions, and system interfaces. The individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Scrum Masters, Product Owners, QA Engineers, Solution Architects, and Chapter Leads to deliver scalable and secure backend solutions.

What you will do

  • Gather requirements, develop, and test microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and JPA.
  • Implement backend components covering business logic, data modelling, persistence, and system interfaces.
  • Design and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with SOAP services where required.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases including Oracle, DynamoDB, and MongoDB.
  • Ensure systems observability through logging, tracing, and metrics.
  • Support non-production and production environments in collaboration with Operations teams.
  • Apply containerisation practices using Docker and contribute to basic Kubernetes deployments.
  • Leverage AWS services such as Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, and ECS.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorisation using Swagger/OAS3, JWT, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect.

Who you are

  • A backend developer with 7–9 years of hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, JPA, and Oracle.
  • Proficient in client-server and web architecture principles.
  • Skilled in Git, Linux, and HTTP protocols.
  • Experienced in building and consuming REST APIs and working with SOAP.
  • Familiar with microservices architecture and containerisation using Docker.
  • Knowledgeable in AWS basics and security protocols including OAuth2 and OpenID Connect.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and support production environments.
