What you’ll do

• Conducting Data Discovery activities on the Data Warehouse and Source Systems to analyse data and determine that it is ‘fit for purpose’

• Ensure true business needs are clearly identified and clearly understood at the root so that the most effective and efficient solutions can be derived.

• Manage scope of the Solution Design Documentation and comply with change management procedures.

• Be able to create and/or update the Requirements Traceability Matrix to ensure requirements are managed throughout the lifecycle of development.

• Collect system/business requirements for Business Intelligence, Reporting and Analytics solutions.

• Profile and analyse source systems, working with source system and application owners to understand source data structures.

• Facilitate the discovery of entities, attributes, relationships, and business rules from the technical experts and the business users

• Work together as part of IT delivery ensuring DWH deliverables are providing on time in each gate i.e. Mapping Document, Design document etc.

• Design and develop data model and ETL mappings including diagram and source to target mappings document, ensuring the business requirement is met.

• Modify the physical data model for efficient data access paths.

• Generate DDL to create tables, and views

• Ensure best performance for ETL by identifying needed indexes, partitions, materialized views …etc.

• Work closely with Support team to assist of daily batch.

• Work closely with the Architecture team to ensure the design is meeting standards and delivering the right quality to the business

• Maintain technical and business Metadata in the Data Warehouse.

• Alignment with Vodafone Group around modelling governance.

Who you are

• 6+ Years of total industry experience preferably in telecom environment, Data Modelling Concepts, ETL Tools Knowledge (ODI Prefered), Oracle SQL/PL

• Knowledge of DWH, Proactive working mode, problem solver, Strategic and analytics roles

• Maintaining and enhancing the 3NF data model.

• Maintaining and enhancing the dimensional model and presentation layer.

• Source to Target Mapping specifications.

• Presentation layer design preferred

• 6+ years of Data-Warehousing experience including 2+ years data modelling.

• Proficient in 3rd normal form relational modelling and dimensional modelling for data marts

• Data mapping specification writing skills

• Proficient in working on data modelling tools. Preferred Power Designer

• Experience with a number of ETL tools. Preferred ODI, Ab Initio.

• Has good knowledge of Telecom & BSS systems – Prepaid, Post-paid, CRM etc.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Highly developed time management skills and ability to prioritise workload

• Knowledge of BI tools such as Business Objects and Tableau

• Knowledge on basics of DWH and exposure to BI projects

• Understanding of business applications, interfaces and integrated operational environments

• End to end experience of software development lifecycle

• Good understanding of Telco business

• High Level SQL and the ability to query systems - Oracle and PL/SQL knowledge must.

• Ability to draw conclusions from detailed data sets and confidently communicate this back to senior stakeholders

• Experienced in requirements analysis, specifically the challenge and validation of data capability and reporting requirements

• An understanding of user needs and a focus on the business outcome

• A logical approach to problem solving and an investigative and inquisitive mind

• Experience in collating and documenting requirements

• 4+ Years of total industry experience preferably in telecom environment, with exposure to analytics role

• People leadership experience & good people management skills with experience of creating and managing effective teams

• Knowledge of agile methodologies
