About the role

We are looking for a hands-on QA Lead/Architect to take forward test automation and maintain automation frameworks on multiple application types and platforms including Web, Mobile, and Microservices (Api). You will be able to align a strong technical competence with a pragmatic approach to achieving quality expectations.

As part of the team, you will contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of test automation frameworks using best-practice techniques and principles. We anticipate that with your industry-standard and best practice knowledge you will spend your time coding automated test scripts, help other team members and work widely and closely across the company, and within the project teams.

We’ve grown 1000% over the past 18 months and we’re aiming to triple that again over the next 12 months. 🚀 We would love to have you be a part of that!

The day-to-day

  • Attend daily team meetings/ Agile meetings
  • Produce quality, scalable and maintainable automated testing frameworks, including analysing test runs in order to
    • Review results of regular (nightly) test runs
    • Analyse reason of test runs failures
    • Fix automated test scripts (if any problems found)
    • Investigate defects found by tests/ Submit defects found by tests
  • Analyse the automation failures and help the team to get them fixed.
  • Code review
  • Take lead in automation initiatives(POCs, improvement) and explore new tools and technologies
  • Design and execute automation scripts using open-source and COTS tools (e.g. Selenium/BDD/Browser Stack/Rest Assured/Postman), including:
    • Read and understand requirements
    • Write test cases
    • Read test cases prepared by others and seek clarity as needed
    • Write test scripts covering test cases
    • Performing peer code reviews
    • Debug written scripts to make it stable

About you

  • 8+ years of professional software testing experience, including the definition of automation strategies, frameworks and continuous improvement
  • 6+ years of experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks in Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby or similar Object-oriented programming)
  • Strong programming knowledge. While Java and JavaScript programming and development will be helpful, being able to code is a must for the role.
  • Good level of understanding of Architecture principles, Design methodologies and their applicability
  • Ability to define and enforce Coding Standards
  • Hands-on experience in automating standard application technologies, e.g., UI (Web/Thick Clients), Messaging / API systems, Database (including NoSQL) and Mobile
  • Hands-on automation experience in various phases, levels, and environments i.e., Unit, Integration, End-to-End, System, Functional, etc.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more Automation Tools, e.g., Selenium, Specflow, Cucumber, Jmeter, SOAP UI, REST-Assured, Appium etc.
  • Experience with version control systems, preferably GIT
  • Through your advanced understanding of best design principles and OOPS concepts, you will actively contribute to the quality of our automation suite and help in code reviews.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more Automation Frameworks, e.g., Karate Framework (API & UI), Hybrid Automation Frameworks, Data-Driven, etc
  • Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. You’re comfortable using a variety of mediums to communicate, and can interact and empathise with varying levels of internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical and logical thinking. With a natural curiosity, you will be able to consider the bigger picture while asking questions to understand any problem and identify the strengths and weaknesses of any system.

You’ll really ‘wow’ us away if you have

  • Experience with performance testing(Jmeter)
  • Experience with Cloud platforms and virtualization(AWS)

Primary caregivers receive full pay for the first 16 weeks and 50% pay up to week 32. But need more time off? No problem, you can take up to 52 weeks (statutory) with us!

Secondary caregivers receive full pay for the first 4 weeks and an additional 2 weeks after 36 months of continuous service. It's up to you when you start your leave, we are here to support you through the whole process.
